Is this true about current console system lasting til 2015?

I member seeing some where that current console like ps3, xbox 360 going to last til 2015 before micrsofot and sony released there next gen console. is this true?

The big 3 will release new systems in between 2011-13 they will support the current gens systems till 2015. I hope

Maybe not 2015, my guess is 2013 or 2014. Personally i wouldn't complain about that.

Yes, and they should last that long. This gives developers more time and save money in milking out the marrows of life on each console. Creating more quality games and boosting more value on the console, giving consumers a good long term investment from their wallets.

Well I am guesing they will last at least that long, look at the ps2, it is selling like crazy still with no signs of letting up. It will happen again with this gen. The other systems will come out simetime around 2011 or 2012. PS4 might not come to 2013.

Depends on the economy and the costs of the new hardware parts. Consoles need to be affordable and progress well with advanced technological trends. If a console comes out too powerful too soon, it'll have no choice but to charge crazy amounts of dollars in order to match costs and make profit. Sony is still learning this lesson with the PS3, and the job cuts and studio closures aren't helping either.

So yeah, it is very possible that current consoles may last until 2015.

Well we all know they're working on next gen consoles already and I really don't believe it'll be a year past 2012 until the new consoles arrive.
