[QUOTE="dyproximy"]The only game I would consider buying a ps3 for is mgs4.agentfred
You called it.
Casuals don't want MGS4. Gamers want MGS4. Sadly, the best system seller this year was Wii Sports. That is a good question but it is highly doubtful since to many people it will remind them of Tomb Raider but with a dude. Despite looking like a beautiful game, it'll be tough to sell a game with a console that is not selling well. But as the above poster mentioned, MGS4 will be the system seller especially in Japan where it is immensly popular.

But at least I will be able to enjoy MGS4. It should be the game to sell me on the PS3, just as it's predecessor sold me on the PS1, 2, and P.

I could be wrong, but I thought MGS was bigger in America than it was in Japan.

I could be wrong as well but the games had sold more in Japan then it did here. There's even a stronger following of fans of the MGS fans in Japan.

If that was true MGS2 wouldn't have competely flopped on the Xbox. Also MGS4 is being released in Japan first. Japan even got cool MGS special editions on Metal Gear's 20th anni.[QUOTE="agentfred"][QUOTE="A_zombie"]That is a good question but it is highly doubtful since to many people it will remind them of Tomb Raider but with a dude. I just checked Vgchartz here are the sales figures.
MGS: .78 million in Japan, 2.81 in America, 2.00 in Other
MGS2: .85 in Japan, 2.29 in America, and 2.42 in Other
MGS3: .86, 1.42, 1.68
Their you have it, Japan is the smallest region for MGS.

I guess Konami really loves to spoil their Japanese fans. I'm surprised that MGS3 sold the worst, many people think it's the best one.I guess Konami really loves to spoil their Japanese fans. I'm surprised that MGS3 sold the worst, many people think it's the best one.

Me included. I'm not sure why it didn't sell so well, but it probably didn't get as much publicity as the two solid's before it, because they were killer apps at the time, and MGS3 wasn't.

i'm not sure if it well move PS3 but itshouldsell well.... but i said the same thing about HS and look how that turned out. you PS3 boys need to start buying games.
nope unless sony comercializes it like halo, then again the game lacks replayablity so no.amorbis1001
Really? Wow, can I have your time machine? :O:|
Uncharted is going to have a medal system and unlockables such as skins and an extra difficulty.
The latest jetski trailer already convinced me to buy a ps3.
The game looks beyond awesome, and it definately has AAAA material, but I'll predict it to be AAA just to be on the safe side, because of the bias against good quality ps3 games.
I highly doubt it. The new R&C game only sold 95,000 copies its first week out according to VGChartz. Now I am not saying their accurate but close enough to say that is very disappointing for a well known established franchise. Its becoming evident that PS3 owners seem to be mostly those that wanted a cheap Blu-ray player cause they are not buying games. I just don't see Uncharted faring well, probably a rental like HS was. In all honesty I have R&C and its great for a purchase, long campaign and high replay value. Will this game move ps3s?

i cant wait for this game... it looks amazing
sony should show some ads for this to get ppl interested, they should just play the massive attack trailer... that is by far the best game trailer i have ever seen.
I think it might get some hardcore gamers that have been sitting on the fence to give it a shot because Naughty Dog is a respected game maker even if they are known for "kiddy" games. I know I got the first two Jak games simply because they were quality products and Crash Bandicoot was a good series when they were responsible for it.JiveT
Kiddy? :? The only kiddy games they ever made were the Crash series and Jak and Daxtar. The rest weren't as kiddy since they had language and violence and it was like GTA, only without the blood, gore, and nudity (Jak II's was close though).
