It would seem so. I've not really seen anything special from Wii U regarding its "innovation" of a controller with a touchable screen. It's actually worse than the Wiimote which at least introduced a new, yet obvious, way of playing games. The touchscreen on the other hand... is a huge miss. It doesn't really introduce anything new except more gimmicks that last for a whole five minutes. You're better off spending your money on a Xbox 360 or a PS3 and the motion controllers to go with either one.

No it doesnt have a game on par with halo. The tablet controller is a gimmick. I mean how many times in the wii's lifecycle were motion controls implemented creatively or innovatively or even improved on a standard controller? The wiiu tablet will be the king of party games and mini games and all manor of shovleware. I mean if inventory organization and maps are the best ideas for the second screen then it has to fail.

When is Nintendo going to release a new DS and not just one with a gimmicky 3D screen?

Um.. no? People buy consoles for the games. Unless and until you can get Mario, Zelda, Metroid, SSB, etc. on a 360, the very question is just stupid.

The answer is no. Radeon E6760 GPU is significantly better than Xbox 360's GPU.

Whilst 1GB of RAM isnt alot in this day and age... "a little more ram" certainly isn't correct.

Doubling something isn't a little more.... its 100% more.

It doesn't have a Halo, I agree.however, having a system seller at launch seems to be becoming a rarity. IMO the only system sellers at launch were Mario 64, Halo, Super Mario World, and maybe Rogue Leader for GC(Super Mario Bros, as well, but I don't remember if that was launch or not).

Its it own console with its own games although I'm not a fan of those games myself that's why some people buy nintendo and this one is getting more interest with third party support more then what the Wii did so it will be interesting to see if it lasts through the release of the PS4 and 720 so still going to be keeping a eye on it

Little in comparison to the 8x jump we typically see in next gen hardware.

Yea but I think he said 1 because as of now, only 1 gig is dedicated to gaming. That number will proably go up down the road when the OS is optimized.

Ahh, Well do we know how much of the 360's ram is dedicated to OS? Because if were not gonna count the WiiUs os dedicated ram then we shouldn't count the 360s either:P

Does the Xbox 360 have it's own social networking application that allows players to visit message boards for help for video chat with friends without quitting their game? Does the Xbox 360 have 2GB RAM? Then no.

You've also got to realise that we don't know if the Wii U's 1GB for gaming is shared between system/video. I believe 32MB of the 360's memory is used for the OS, could be wrong though. Also, the 360 has 10MB eDRAM whereas the Wii U has 32MB eDRAM The 360's 512MB has

1. Just the CPU is lower clocked doesn't mean it's bad. Even if it was a Broadway clocked up to 1.8Ghz with three cores it would still run circles around the Xenon. It's newer, and better even at lower speeds. 2. 2GB RAM isn't a "little bit more" than 512MB. Additionally we don't know how much VRAM the Wii U has. 3. The 360 has 10MB eDRAM, and the Wii U has 32MB eDRAM. Pretty big difference IMO

360 + Smartglass is pretty close to what the Wii U is.

I finally was able to play the Wii-U at Best Buy yesterday. I've got to say I wasn't overly impressed. It really did remind me of an Xbox 360 with a touchscreen tablet. A lot is going to depend on the quality of exclusive games that come out for it. I guess only time will tell if it is the success that the Wii was.

Only an idiot would say such bull wen the rumours suggest that it's more powerful, not just slightly. If you're looking at these launch games for a clear perspective, then don't.

360 launch games looked like sh*t, PS2 launch titles looked like sh*t, PS1 launch titles looked like absolute sh*t, and so on. You'd think gamers would learn from the past. You'll mearly need to compare those early 7th generation titles to these current releases to see what a capable developer can do once the hardware is on the market for a longer perioud.

Only time will tell, and that's further down the line wen the developers are used to the hardware. Right now wen the hardware ain't even out yet? It's just like looking at a monkey throwing sh*t around on Nintendo. Like it always happens.

This is from Gamespots review of the 360 launch game Kameo: Drop-dead gorgeous visuals showcase the power of the Xbox 360

What did we learn with the Gears of War unveiling at e3 2005, Kameo and COD 2 with its dx 9 features? That a powerhouse console starts with a bang.

First pc game with dx9 features afaik was Far Cry from 2004. 360 released in 2005. DX 11 has been in games since 2009. But the wiiu is dx 10.1.

Yes. Also, the Playstation 3 is an Xbox 360 with a Blu Ray, the Playstation was a Nintendo 64 with a CD ROM drive, the Super Nintendo was a Sega Genesis with a better sound chip, and the Gamecube was a square-shaped Playstation 2.

Also, all Android phones are iPhones with Android and all iPhones are Android phones with iOS.

No, it wishes it was that good :) Seriously, however you regard the touch screen controller and assuming Wii U has superior hardware which all signs point to, the 360 has numerous things on it despite this. Wii U's network is a bad joke, it is not going to have near the library as the 360 for quite some time, and it lacks much of the multimedia capacity the 360 has, never mind Kinect.

the touchscreen controller isn't a gimmick. It's gonna make for real time inventory change, clear up the tv screen, be used as a sight.. etc. You know make for real time game play and with using the 2nd screen as a scope you'll be able to see if anyone is sneaking up to knife you :D I call that inovation

How is looking down at the controller any better than just bringing up a menu on the tv screen. Isnt a scope for people who are far away? Instead of making a powerhouse console with improvements to ingame mechanics like physics ai etc nintendo tries differentiate themselves in the easiest way possible with another gimmicky controller.

do you pause a game of dodgeball to pick up the ball? no.

part of the fun and excite comes from having to draw your attention somewhere else, forcing yourself to multitask

I know you've had to of played modern warefare or such and been killed while you were trying to snipe someone, maybe they come up and teabag you for fun because all you can see is what's through the scope, not with the Wii U you'll have a screen for the scope and still be able to see your player

the touchscreen controller isn't a gimmick.

Instead of making a powerhouse console with improvements to ingame mechanics like physics ai etc nintendo tries differentiate themselves in the easiest way possible with another gimmicky controller.

but I guess you're one of those people who can't drive because you can't take your eyes off the road to look at your gauges

lol pretty much. I laugh at those who say the touch screen is a bad thing. This is where technology is going nowadays. Lots of appeal for both novelty and utility

do you pause a game of dodgeball to pick up the ball? no.

part of the fun and excite comes from having to draw your attention somewhere else, forcing yourself to multitask

I know you've had to of played modern warefare or such and been killed while you were trying to snipe someone, maybe they come up and teabag you for fun because all you can see is what's through the scope, not with the Wii U you'll have a screen for the scope and still be able to see your player

Do you pause a game of Dark Souls when you go into the inventory? no Zombie u gives the player a message to look at controller when you have to use the touchscreen, how is that multitasking? The most immersive way to play would be with vr goggle so you have 90 degree periphery, that would make this touch screen nonsense obsolete.
