It would seem so. I've not really seen anything special from Wii U regarding its "innovation" of a controller with a touchable screen. It's actually worse than the Wiimote which at least introduced a new, yet obvious, way of playing games. The touchscreen on the other hand... is a huge miss. It doesn't really introduce anything new except more gimmicks that last for a whole five minutes. You're better off spending your money on a Xbox 360 or a PS3 and the motion controllers to go with either one.
