Isn't it better to only have one console to own?

This way console wars becomes develper wars or something. I think it'll bring more innovation to games and not barriers like different consoles exclusives. A consolo that would be able to run any past game as well.

no consoles would cost so much that I wouldnt buy consoles anymore.. without competition a company can do anything they want..

it would take competition away, consoles would be extremly expensive and developers woudnt have to worry about quality much more then they already do these days, since most good titles are multi plat and they get loads of money to keep a game exclusive, so in a way its healthy to console gaming.

pc is a system that has no competition and it happens exactly what your sayng, developers try hard to bring the best into their games, but thats only because they can puch techology further then they could on a console, and develop games for PC is also much cheaper, allowing more developers into the battle.
