the story and cutscenes look really good and interesting, but if it was a movie it would be a boring idea? Why is that? This thread isn't about Killzone 2...it's just an example, you guys can name other games too.Devour2Survive
sounds like a great movies story, one where Humans actually invade another planet, because if we did discover aliens it would be us raiding their planet and stealing their resources
yeh all games would make horrible generic movies, even mgs! jack_michaelI liked Max Payne. But also, i think Halo, Resistance, and especially Uncharted would make a good movie
[QUOTE="jack_michael"]yeh all games would make horrible generic movies, even mgs! tmacscores91I liked Max Payne. But also, i think Halo, Resistance, and especially Uncharted would make a good movie max payne was horrible. I heard it pleased the game fans tho. unless the director is REALLY good, then I don't see a halo or resistance movie being any good. an uncharted movie can be fantastic tho

I heard either peter jackson, or spielberg is who Sony was going after, and if Sony really felt this would make a good game, they can through around some money for spielberg

"Even" MGS? MGS would be a comedy.

A Metal Gear Solid movie is expected hit theaters this year. Seriously. I'm not even joking. You can search it up.

MGS is soo full of movie cliche's that the only way it would work is indeed if it didn't take itself too seriously![QUOTE="tmacscores91"][QUOTE="jack_michael"]yeh all games would make horrible generic movies, even mgs! lolwotrickrollI liked Max Payne. It doesn't take a Really good director to make a movie game good, as long as its not uwe boll it should be pretty good

Alot of games would be cliche or weird if they were directly transformed into movies. But for the most part MGS4 has enough movie quality substance to be a good movie. It's how you handle the material really. How serious you take the dialogue and character development. There are some deep movies that have off-the-wall aspects in them as well. But in the end movies as a whole have explore much more content and are years ahead in story telling.[QUOTE="_rpg_FAN"]well in movies you just sit and watch and when you watch same stuff over and over it gets boring in games you can do other things even if "movie part" is boringDevour2SurviveBut I"m talking about the idea for Killzone 2...just wouldn't fly if it was a movie.
actually it can...just think of lord of the rings but in the killzone universe.

Mark Wallberg was a horrible cast for payne, he looked like a tool. Only thing that resembles the game is the slow mo action and even that was poorly done.
[QUOTE="Bigboi500"]Gamers have always accepted over the top, cornyness in games. Movies have higher standards.Eyezonmiiits because you play games....keyword 'PLAY'...movies need to have higher standards since you do nothing but watch it for at least 2 hrs. Yes that's true, but I've often wondered why we as gamers accept such cheesiness so easily. Characters like Snake, Dante, Marcus Fenix, etc.
I though Max Payne was an OK movie, DOOM wasn't bad either, and I didn't hate Hitman either.
I wouldn't call any of them classics, but I'd watch them on a rainy day if I caught it on TV or something. I wouldn't mind a Killzone movie either.
I did hate the Resident Evil movies with a burning passion though.

Its not because I don't like MGS and have never understood the reasons for its popularity(And I have tried the games, yes), its that I don't think anybody BUT the gaming community and Sci Fi junkies could ever accept it. The story is undeniably straight out weird as anything.
It wouldn't fare well with the movie crowed based on the strange plot twists, you know, like an arm taking over a persons mind despite it lacking a brain, cyber ninjas, weird giant robots, and the constant interruption of action sequences with dialogue and story. I just don't think it would do well.
