Yeah, it does suck that this is going to be our last time with Snake. Here we have the new gen where the limits of games have been expanded greatly, and yet only 1 time will Snake be featured in a Metal Gear this time. :(
On a side note though...just because someone may not like the modeling of a character, this doesn't mean the game isn't good. GTA4 related - I still think it deserves a 10, and I've played/completed every GTA. I think it's the best in the series so far.

I'd certainly say Metal Gear Solid is the more respectable series due to the fact that the installments always have some philosophical message in them.
What's sad is the fact that you think Hideo doesn't milk MGS. He milks that just as much as Itagaki milks NG. Lance_Kalzas
Itagaki didn't really milk NG, he re-released it once and released a sequel, and says he's now finished with the series. The other remake (Sigma) had nothing to do with him. So 3 games isn't really milking...
The ultimate goal of devs and publishers is to make money, just like anyone else, and I'm perfectly fine with that as long as they deliver a quality game experience so whether it's milking or not, I could care less. I'm sure NG and MGS along with many other fine series are great gaming experiences and that's all any of us should care about. It's not about the console, who's winning or anything else...It's all about the games. We as gamers should not care which console wins any generational war, we benefit by having multiple consoles because that pushes the manufacturers and the game developers/publishers to step it up.
I am a MGS fan but I disagree with your slam on GTA4. The game breaks ground in so many areas that its hard to put a finger on one that stands out. MGS stories and boss battles are second to none but GTA is revolutionary in all areas of gameplay. It will be hard for MGS to beat the effort Rock Star put into GTA4.
I don't no why this should upset anybody. This is Gamespot, niether the review scores nor the GOTY should matter because everybody knows there reviews are a joke. I am a sheep and personally I have never thrown around the fact that SMG got GOTY to validate any argument, do to so would be a fallacy for anything I argued.

You do realize that if the roles were reversed and MGS4 was already released and GTA4 was coming out next month the poll results would be completely reversed. People on SW have about a 10 minute attention span.
