[QUOTE="Baurus_1"] I used to have a 360, and I almost always had trouble connecting to Xbox Live. It would usually take me at least 3 attempts before I connected. And I am almost positive it wasn't my 360 or cable modem, I think it had something to do with Xbox Live. I sold my 360 and got a PS3. I have never had trouble connecting to PSN. It works the first time, everytime.
Anyone else have this experience?

Complete opposite for me. XBL connects first time every time. PSN needed a lot of work to get a reliable connection.
I needed to open the 6? ports for PSN, then the extra 2 ports for Resistance, 2 for Motorstorm (I take it that will be an on-going theme). I had a real hard time connecting but finally cracked it luckily without putting the PS3 in a DMZ. Then Sony brought out update 2.0 and that kicked me (and a lot of others) out again. Turns out the MTU on the PS3 and router needed lowering after 2.0 to log in to PSN which restricts my ping times on my 360 and pc.
So I think you are the exception mate, not the rule.
How can andecdotal evidence from two people make something true or not true?
The Live service has been around for 5 years. In those five years they have fleshed out a lot of the issues that frustrated many early adopters.
Personally, I'd rather pay $ for something if I felt like it was worth the price. $4 a month is well worth it to me, so the whole price factor is pretty much irrelevant. As far as reliability I think that both have their problems. I know for COD4, in the first few days the forums were ablaze with ticked off PS3 owners who couldn't find a game. I have COD4 for the 360 and I know that I've had some issues finding games from time to time.
Overall, I think that Live is the better online program. It's been out longer, and I think the MS has been more responsive to the needs of the people who use it.
