It turns out the Bungie Invitational was indeed....

...just a golf tournament. Last week bungie posted this image:

Along with a caption saying the Bungie Invitational was looming.

Many folks speculated that this would be a bungie fan-day where they would announce and show off their new project. Other folks saw the golf ball and thought "this is just a golf tournament". Bungie do have them (almost) annually after all.

And indeed, as this week's update confirms; it was just a golf tournament.

So no surprise PS3 project. No new trailer. Just golf.

All that hype in this forum for that. (not saying golf is a bad game)

No those pictures are indeed relating to the new project. The weird little emoticon faces like the one on the golf ball were posted all over bungie.net when they were hyping their new trailer. Ninja-Hippo

Personally, I didn't know one thing about this so I can't say I called it.:PMust suck for those that thought it had to do with something other than golf though.
