With a one or possibly even 2 year headstart on MS and Sony Nintendo's new console will have plenty of time to build up a userbase which developers won't be able to ignore. Multiplats will be built to run on the Nintendo console regardless of the specs of MS and Sony's new console. If Nintendo get's back on track with third party devs then they will dominate next gen.

Just because one console may or may not be successful is no measure for the success of another released years later.

I think that one sentence pretty much sums it up. Third party developers ignored the best selling console this generation. You bet they could do it again.

You're assuming this thing is going to be more powerful than the 360/ps3.

For one, there is no history in third party games actually selling on a Nintendo system unless you back to the SNES. Secondly, PS3 and 360 owners ar buying a ton of third party games.

There is absolutety no reason for third party devs to ignore their current costumers that actually buys their games for a userbase that historically won't.

First out of the gate doesn't mean that it's automatically going to sell the best. The Wii actually launched last. If there's a console with games and features that people want, at the right price, it will sell well regardless of its launch order. I really don't think that people really appreciate how great of a console the Wii is, despite its lack of third party support.
