I dont think anyone purposely postpones horro games until halloween. I think horror games just are a lot more rare these days. Dead Space 2 came out in january.
If you want to play a horror game you have to look for some older titles released. I was craving some horror myself so i recently looked for some horror tiltes online. Im playing through Silent HIll Homecoming right now.

Yeah the new Silent Hill just got pushed back and I think that was original due Tuesday as well. I don't remember though, I'm just happy it's getting more development time.
That Tim Schafer halloween game looked pretty good. Its not horror and its a kids game, but It still seems pretty decent.
Edit: The name of the game is Costume Quest.

That one released last Halloween. It turned out I couldn't put down the controller once I started playing it. That little game turned out to be one of the best experiences I've had this gen :). I still need to get the DLC.
