Had a nintendo party last night with 12++ friends.

I think it's just one of the best games this generation. :)

First day purchase for me. I wish I had rented it. It got boring really fast (and people who play Pikachu pissed me off.)

Now Soul Calibur 4, that's an awesome game.

Opposite for me. I rented SC4 and got bored with it in a few days. I just played SSBB today and I got it at launch. Ive got several hundred hours put into that game.

I on the other hand played Soul Calibur IV at a friends house. I got bored within 10 minutes. Very bored. Once I discovered that Yoda's diving attack could pretty much KO anyone if not knock them off first, and everyone else's grab attack made it too easy, the game got very dull.

SSBB is decent game and probably the one I have played the most on the Wii but that isn't saying much since I don't play that system much. It is a good party game to play with others.

It said in the intro, it shows it's compatible in several options, in the intro, on the back of the game, etc.

Don't own brawl yet, about to buy a Wii, but I have played it. Although I used the classic controller (not pro) & wii mote, my first impression was that it didn't 'feel' as good as melee. I'll be buying a Gamecube controller for it however. As for SC4, I still own it, but rarely play it. The D-Pad on the 360 is pretty bad for fighters, but I also didn't like it near as much as SC3. I missed the mode with the paths & stuff. Can't remember what it was called.

I got sick of SSBB very quickly, melee was great but enough significant changes weren't made to bring it to this gen and there are much better games to play.

Really? I played SC4 for a fair bit of time and managed to unlock the A rank items or whatever it was (through achievements I think) but I grew bored of it :? I think I would have prefered it not to use the armour system. Brawl on the other hand Im still finding amazing, although the subspace emissary was crap...

It was really hated around 2008-2009. I hope its subsided a bit.

Broken how? friend codes are crap but it finds me groups pretty quick and I have less lag than I get playing DOA4 or SC4 and its more game breaking in them (I actually get hardly any lag in brawl, but my isp are good for gamers).

DOA and Street Fighter on the other hand are excellent.

Melee was probably my second fav multi-player game of all-time (L4D1 being my all-time fav) and I didn't even own it.

Everytime my friends and I had a get together we would be playing melee all night.

We put hundreds of hours into that game and it was our game of choice for YEARS!

Brawl on the other hand, we played that on a few short occassions and just got bored of it quickly.

I loved the new characters, but that game just completely lacked the magic that Melee had.

I got bored of Brawl after a month or so. It had a lot more content than its predecessors, but the fighting itself, the slowed down gameplay, and the less "floaty" physics turned me off a bit.

Not exactly sure what this thread is implying...a little more detail would have been helpful, but I suppose its good to know SSBB has held up over time. Are we supposed to be naming other games that have held up over a few years or talking about SSBB...idk anyway I played Bioshock the other night and that game is still ridiculously fun, smooth gameplay, graphically impressive, innovative, and simply amazing even 3 years after release...just thought I'd say that!

In all honesty, I prefer Brawl over Melee. The online play may suck due to it being laggy as all hell, but still is a frantically fun game. And I don't agree to it being the worst SSB, to be honest, that belongs to the N64 game.

Brawl is the best SSB and the people choosing melee will be linked to 1 or both of these things.

1) The experience. Melee released 7 years before brawl so that means we were all 7 years younger. The majority of us are probably 16-23 now. When your that young, you have friends around and anything is better with a couple of good friends. Its harder to get people gathered when you're older to play games and with a multiplayer game like SSB, leads to short lifespan. I know it happened to me.

2) Timeline. SSBM was a completely different experience from SSB1 whilst Brawl just added on top of melee. So instead of starting from 1st year, 2nd year with most games, your already at year 8 as you already have all that experience from melee. Which means its not all that of a fresh experience and you're more likely to quit early. I know some people expected to play brawl for years to come but have already left. I know this doesnt make much sense, its hard to put in words.

Overthinking but what the hey, im burning here.

Im really glad they changed the gameplay a bit. By that i mean making it more floaty and slower. It didnt make Melee obselete for us. Sometimes when im with friends we'll play Melee and then play some Brawl. Feels like 2 different styles.

Brawl is awesome. I just played it for hours this past weekend with friends, and I honestly never get bored with it. The best part game and a pretty good fighter on top of that. It probably penalizes button mashing more than any other fighting game.
