It's disapointing that you can count the PS3's RPGs on one hand.

The PSone and the PS2 both thrived because of their RPGs.

Every Final Fantasy game since 7 has been on Sony's console, and its been the home to Atlus and other excellent RPG creators.

What's up with the PS3?

It has Oblivion, Valkyria Chronicles (BARELY an SRPG), Enchanted Arms, Eteral Sonata, and Fallout 3 (Which has just BARELY been anounced that it's getting all the features the 360 version has.)

There are a few others that Gamespot counts as RPGs as well, but even including the ones announced, there is only one page of RPGs that are on or going to be on the PS3. (We're not counting PS1 re-releases.)

The 360 has nearly double that number, and they have good RPGs, like Fable II and Mass Effect. Even the Wii has more RPGs than the PS3.

PS3 has turned into an Action game system, and that's disapointing for the gamer that likes to have variety in what he plays. (It doesn't even have many games in the way of thought provoking puzzle games - another genre that even the Wii wins in.)

1) Personally i haven't found very good exclusive 360 RPGs myself other than Fable 2, Mass Effect bored me. So basically your argument is that the 360 has two very good RPGs over the PS3, that doesn't really put it head and shoulders

2) PS3 has quite a large amount of puzzle games, Echochrome, LBP

3) PS3 does have variety, shooters both FP and TP, drivers, action adventures, what ever genre modnationracers created itself...

4) I don't think the wii RPGs are of the same quality when directly compared

5) Besides if you have a 60gb (like me) you get all theolder RPGsyou want

I think this is the main reason i chose the 360 over the PS3: it has more rpgs, which is my favorite genre. Still, nothing beats the pc in the rpg department.

You didn't even include Disgaea 3  also Sacred 2, Demon Souls, Marvel Ultimate Alliance, Cross Edge (which is awesome btw, I don't get how anyone gives it a low score, it's a fantastic SRPG), Untold Legends, Rise Of The Argonauts, and Oblivion....

Seems to be something for everyone there...and it's called Disgaea 3 :D

If you're content with at least a few RPG games, then what's the fuss about?

Shad0ki11

I'm fussing because I haven't found a PS3 RPG I've liked yet.

Then look elsewhere. o_o

Isn't that what the System War is all about?

anyway :P

Both have good RPGs (mostly the multiplat ones). Fighting over the current dismal comprehensive list is silly.

The PS3 lacks RPGs. It's a fact. You can't argue with that :| It's really pathetic that some people can't admit it. Not saying any system has an abundance of them, but the PS3 is especially bare when you look at its forebears.

Just because it's System Wars doesn't mean you can't make smart decisions.

If the PS3 doesn't have what you're looking for, then just go for the system that does have what you're looking for.

I have to agree with the TC. I'm a fan of RPGs and Sony consoles were the best place to be for the last 2 gens if you wanted the the best RPGs and the most titles to choose from. That hasn't happened yet this generation, and it's disappointing.

To be honest, I bought my PS3 for MGS4. I don't regret the decision, but I don't really want to buy a 360 either now that I have it.

I bought the PS3 bundled with MGS4. I got the system for it's value and because I could play some great games as well as play PS2 games because I never owned a PS2.

If the PS3 doesn't satisfy you, then sell it and get the Xbox360.

If you want to keep your PS3, yet still play the RPGs available for the Xbox360, just save up for one. The Xbox360 isn't that expensive especially the refurbished ones. So if you have a job, buying an Xbox360 shouldn't be a problem.

"Fallout 3 has just BARELY been announced that its getting 360 features"? How exactly is the announcement of the DLC "barely"? haha it's either announced or it isn't. TC is stretching. PS3 may not have many RPG's but almost all of them are AA/AAA, where as 360 AAA RPG's are multi-plat and the exclusives are A/AA. Quality > Quantity

I'm a ps3 fan ( I don't go as far as saying I'm a fanboy cause I like the 360 too :P) but if you count good rpg's , yeah they barely fit a single hand...thank God White Knight Chronicles and Demon's Soul are not too far away (They would be my first two rpg's this gen) , hated oblivion and hated fallout 3 :?

No love for Enchanted Arms? :P There are a lot more than 5 RPGs on the PS3. Overall the lineup is weak compared to the other Playstations mainly because the lack of good JRPGs, but hopefully Tales of Vesperia, Demon's Souls, White Knight and Final Fantasy change that
