Held back, out of stock, it doesn't matter because Nintendo still can't produce enough while Sony is playing a VERY good game of catch up. Let's see how the numbers stack up by the end of the year. I also doubt VG Cats would admit to being wrong.
I suppose, though this comic was originally made in answer to Sony selling out its pre-orders in the US in "record time" by having just a couple pre-orders available per store.
