WARHAMMER IS TAKING OVER BLIZZARD'S MARKET

Warhammer Online: Age Of Reckoning is set to devour a massive portion of WoW's audience, and WOTLK won't be able to stop it. An extremely large chunk of WoW's community is composed of dedicated Warhammer fans, and until now they've been forced to play a game that, while containing some great game mechanics, has a background setting that makes a mockery of traditional fantasy ideologies. Only Warhammer (with the exception of Tolkein, he invented it) delivers the deep, compelling races and archetypes that make fantasy settings what they are.

For example, The Empire Of Man is a faction based on realistic nations of old. These are humans - not goofy, oversized cartoon characters. It provides a stark contrast to the fantastic and innumerable organizations of the Olde World. Like the Skaven (rat men), who have existed for countless centuries and are regarded as a myth in most of the land. Or Chaos - a force of demons, men and beasts that exist only by of the flaws of civilized living. There are dozens of fantasy elements that just aren't present in the World Of Warcraft. In Warhammer, the pride of being a human can be realized. Warhammer is straight-up the better IP when compared to Azeroth, and it's 3D visualization will be a welcome sight to those looking for a fresh land to conquer.

Warhammer 40,000: Dawn Of War II is ready to bring innovation and freshness to the single-player RTS experience. With consistent troops, you will grow attached to your warriors. In more down-to-earth battles, the action will be grittier and the tactics will be even more realistic. It's not about who can make better troops faster - it's about who can maneouver and utilize tactics better when deciding a victor.

And for the record, Warhammer 40k is superior to Starcraft in all respects. The Marines in SC? Space Marines. The Zerg? Tyranids. What could be better than playing as rip-off races? I know! THE REAL THING!!!

All in all, Blizzard's shallow rip-offs of Warhammer are losing momentum. For a while, they were amazing. They had amazing gameplay and (seemingly) original art design. But now that other games are set to overtake Blizzard's finest in terms of gameplay, there is really no excuse to keep playing these phony games. So realize what you're missing! Read up on the races through the Wiki! And help restore glory to the TRUE fantasy MEGA-VERSE!

Actually, i've been reading what a lot of people have been saying about it (those in the beta), and supposedly it's pretty polished. It's only a month away. If you want to talk about a game that was released before it was ready, talk about AoC (ewwwwww).

Here are the reviews. Decide for yourself. One major complaint is that the combat is boring and too slow and there are no specific cast animations. I guess it's all up to your opinion, but I don't see WoW players willing to go to a game with slower combat, since it is very important to an MMO. Even WoW was unfinished when it released, but it now has 5? years of patches to hold it together. Don't expect any rapid exodus.

lol, nothing can kill WoW. It's the first MMO to bridge the gap between Casuals and Hardcore players.

Sure Warhammer may take away some WoW customers, but it will hardly kill it.

LOL! funny stuff...

I glanced at your post, saw that line, and decided the rest of it was just as funny.

Sure the game will be good, but its not like its going to kill WoW. Nor will it ever reach the success of WoW.

It's about time someone straights Blizzard up.

Leave the MMOs or expansions to other companies.

We want Warcraft 4.

Despite the popular belief that blizzard "copied warhammer" that simply cannot be true..why would blizzard start on warhammer game without even having the license? They aren't a bunch of idiots.. Yes, their games have some common elements, they both have orcs and humans and dwarfs, but so do many other fantasy worlds and blizzard isn't just going to not use those cool creatures in their games.

Blizzard games are known for their great gameplay and superb polish, which was not taken from the warhammer universe. With Mythic being controlled by EA they are already releasing the game when it could use 6 more months of polish. Dawn of war 2 and Starcraft 2 are completely different types of RTS and will attract different audiences.

Final Word

Warhammer Online will not topple WoW and even if it does they are already working on a new MMO

Dawn of War 2 will be great but will not have the same balance and micro/macro to take away starcraft 2's competitive audience..

Diablo 3 has no "warhammer" rival

Nothing will kill WoW until another Blizzard MMO comes around; that is the sad truth. Dawn of War II looks great, and it's more like CoH than the original Dawn of War, which is a plus, but Starcraft II is mother****ing Starcraft II and therefore, it will probably be good.

Really?! Are you sure you really played WoW? Because it is extremely easy to level in that game without the help of anyone... heck I do quests solo where it is recommended to have 3 players.

Oh... LOL and you had a Lock, like the easiest cla$$ to solo with...

Warhammer 40K is a ripoff of the Aliens movies and Starship Troopers, which thought up the whole "Space Marine vs Insect Alien Race vs Otherworldly Humanoid Race" concept loooong before anybody.

All in all, Blizzard's shallow rip-offs of Warhammer are losing momentum.Uncle_Uzi

Warhammer is a ripoff of Lord of the Rings and Norse mythos.

Only idiots and fanboys believe that other fantasy and sci-fi franchises owe their existance to the Warhammer franchise, because it doesn't.

Its cute to think that and im sure WH will be a good game but personal assumptions and rants doesnt make things true. WoW is extreamly populare and I can see why, its really easy to get into and level yet has a lot of hardcore features such as raiding and arenas.

well, if you check my xfire profile, you'll see that i have played the beta for the expansion. from my pov, it offers NO improvement over the burning crusade. you might think the new class is cool and all but when a protection(defense) spec paladin owns you in your face, you will start QQing. its really sad how all the new expansion does is offer new content, raise the cap, and butcher the lore more than it has already been. i got tired of wow and realized that this game is going downhill and have actually stopped playing it for about a week. once you realize how little blizzard cares about the hardcore pvper or hardcore pve'er you will step away from wow just like i did.
