Well atleast thats what I get from the amazing demo. FINALLY a real skateboarding sim game, I am so sick of how unrealistic Tony Hawk is, Skate. on the other hand is VERY realistic, it's actually HARD to do tricks in this game, like manualing for example, you have to keep the stick perfectly ballanced, just like real skateboarding, I love it! No 5,000,000 point jumping over buildings, being lit on fire combos in this game.
I'm not even really into skateboarding games, but I played the demo of skate. last night and I must say, it's pretty awesome. I definately prefer it over what I've played of the Tony Hawk series.

yeah me too...I saw the new control system awhile back and didn't give it much thought after that...but I downloaded the demo the other day and I will not compare it directly to Tony Hawk because THPS 1 and 2 were great games for their time but the series has gone stale but SKATEhas reinvigorated skateboarding games
Just because skate is more "realistic" doesn't mean it's less fun... it's a good challenge having to time your jumps and positioning your board for the proper grind, and you can still do some really awesome looking tricks.
Other things I enjoyed it about it:
- the camera angle is REALLY good. Definately makes it easier to see what you're doing.
- graphics are fantastic
- replay and movie mode/movie editing is a really nice feature. It would be good if you could show off your videos like in Burnout.
Thank god. I stoped playing all of those extreme sports games (except SSX) because of the fact they were so unrealistic. SSX however never tried to be realistic, Tony Hawk wanted to.
Well EA did say they wanted to differ from Tony Hawk with a more simplistic, yet highly accessible control scheme. I happened to like it. Plus it makes more "sense" then randomly pressing a string of buttons.
