As of today, three of my friends have had to send back there console for a replacement. As have I, If you can believe it three(3) times. In no way am I a 360 hater, it is my favorite console of the 3 and I own them all. I'm just saying..something must be wrong.
Out of my 10 or so friends who have 360's none of them have had to send theirs back, or had any sort of technical problem whatsoever. Just luck I guess. Sorry for you and your friends.
My friend has had his for ages, 7 months I think and it's been fine with no errors whatsoever. He's very lucky though I think since the majority have had problems according to BBC's watchdog and pretty much everyone I've spoken to on SW.
Mine started acting up after I moved to this state. I left it in my bigger bag, since I couldn't carry it as had luggage. When I got it back from the airport, the power cord jack got pushed in (like the power cord doesn't fit right on it) somehow. It works, but I got about 2 red lights when trying to turn it on. So, I called MS, and they offered to fix it for free with prepaid shipping, so I am fine :D

They've sold 10 and a half; and i doubt that hugely. There'd be uproar. In fact, that's seven times the legal limit which requires a recall on a product.

why would they have to pay That's what I'm saying......MS is offering free fixing of all 360's. They started this a while ago, and ALL 360 have at least one year warranty, so when did their warranty run out? Since the 360 has been out for a little over a year, and MS started offering free extended warranties to all.
Of the 4 or 5 friends of mine who have Xbox 360s, I think 3 of them broke. Two of them were launch ones, but one of them is relatively new and kept getting disc read errors. Another one of my friends had his brand new Gears of War disc stratched pretty bad on the first day, though I believe he said he bumped the console.
I think most Xbox 360s that break were launch ones, though I must say that the 360 is pretty sensitive. I of course don't own one, but I think if the 360 is taken care of it should work fine for a long time.

Same here. Of course, I bought my second 360 an hour after my first broke, because I refused to be without my favorite gaming console while MS fixed my first one. I was going to buy a second one for my other TV sooner or later anyway.

Lucky it's not it's that defective I have had mine since May and it works fine I don't consider myself lucky.

fanboys stop saying that this problem isent comon, because it is. 2 of my friends own a 360, both of theres broke.

May be true... I had one break too. I wish MS had made them more stable. But it is one great gaming console. I was not surprised mine broke. Between myself, my girlfriend, and my friends... that thing was being used about 12 hours a day.
My friends as well, TC. Some of my friends are on their 5th or 6th 360, and some even bought a second to have one when the other is in the shop.

We don't do many class action lawsuits, but we are doing one involving defective medical devices. That's all I can say. :)

I've had to send mine in 6 times, and you don't see me complaining. Yes, it really makes me livid, but what am I going to do? There's no other console out there right now that interests me in the slightest. As long as MS keeps fixing it for free, It's no big deal. Seeing how now that I am up there in returns, I get free crap every time I send mine in. To answer your question, yes there is something wrong. By the way, I love how you set your discs label side up. I bet your games don't last long.

Funny how people, like me, would rather deal with having to send their console in 10 + times, and spend more money to buy an extra console, than buy a PS3...Kinda tells you something.
