Advice: You shouldn't keep your 360 vertically, as it blocks one of the main cooling areas of the console, making it more prone to RRoD. Just trying to make this thread a little bit more useful.Rev3nger

Conclusion: I had this 360 since launch and it only RRoD'd once on me in July. It's been vertical since I first got it.

That's BS. If you examine your 360 well, you'll see that it gets the same amount of ventalation both ways.

Like Harry Dean Stanton? :P But anyways, I have friends that have 360s and the majority of them had the RRoD, about 9 out of 12 people that had the RRoD in my circle of friends, they had it horizontal.

Yes, it does get the same amount of ventilation from both sides. That's why if you have it vertically, you only get half the ventilation (not counting the other ventilation areas).

Personally, I verified that my 360 got much hotter when it was standing vertically, and changed it permanently to the horizontal position.

Check for yourself, and if you verify that it heats up just as much vertically as it does horizontally, than by all means, leave it however you like. I'm just trying to help.
