...deliver high quality movies. Oh and it plays games.... Playstation 3, the blue-ray player that plays games.
They paid me to say it, swear :p

So with Sony marketing the PS3 as a Cheap Blu-Ray player and Nintendo marketing the Wii as a new generation of games does that leave the Xbox 360 as the only traditional game system?
Sony is pushing Blu-Ray.
Nintendo is pushing New Gen.
And Microsoft is competing with who now? Apple? I'm confused.
Seriously, does it make anyone else sick that those new PS3 commercials feature games not even out yet, and stuff like MGS 4 as some sort of band wagon title to soothe the collective woes of the Sony corpration?
MGS 4 is a title, a third party title made by Konami that is from a long running good series that has appeared on many consoles and most likely will appear on others in the future.
Does Kojima like being the flag boy of Sony right now? I wouldn't want to be any of the companies whipped errand boys.
(Except for first party properties ofcourse they play that role)
PS3 commercials: "Hey buy our product now coz you can't get any of these cool games anywhere else for cheaper."
then the guy who reads the small text at the end of commercials says " except for every title that isn't MGS 4,...right now"
I'm just happy that for less than I would spend on X360. I get the most exclusives, the best upcoming games, HD movies, a reliable system, the most future proof system and a ton more features with PS3.
What makes the PS3 so future proof anyway? Teh Blu-Ray? It doesn't sound any more future proof than the other systems; in fact, it might not even have a future.Yodas_Boy
The cell I would think. It's just that nobody has figured out how to utilize it yet. I havea PS3 and am happy with it, I don't understand this need on system wars for the PS3 to fail so badly. If it makes a strong comeback, then that is good for everybody because competition willkeepall three companies on their toes.

The Cell is just a processor. Just like the Emotion Engine, it's not a magic wand that can fix Sony's troubles with developing a truly captivating game. And game budgets are stretched tight as it is. Developers simply do not have resources for experimentation. That's why streamlining development tools is so important, and why Microsoft has run away with third party support the last two years.

People in System Wars fail to realize that competition is good. Your logic will be lost in a sea of ignorance.I'm just happy that for less than I would spend on X360. Most exclusives? less than a 360? Denial at its finest.

I agree 100%, also Sony did not send dev kits out until the system was about to be released, Oct. 07 was when 3rd parties started recieving dev kits. It would have also been a good idea to send out liason's to the companies for maybe a small tutorial with 3rd party companies to utilize the capabilities of the system.
Now Sony is in a distant 3rd, perhaps to far behind to "win", really though, it is just a matter of time before people start really making some killer apps, then I hope we'll see a tighter race.
um its future proof because its sony, they are not the ones that completely abandon their systems when the nex gen hits.
