You've got it all backwards. How are MS, Nintendo and Sony going to sell consoles in a handful of years when the average Dell can run Crysis and wirelessly connect to your TV?

If graphics dont matter at all , lets stick to DX5 then and play Quake-style graphics games for the rest of 2000.

Yeah, I couldn't miss the unmistakable smell of flame-bait lol.

Im still waiting for consoles to actually do decent amounts of AA, native 1080p at solid 60 frames per second. We were promised a lot at the beginning of this gen and we still havent seen them.

You've missed the point.

Within a handful of years, the average Dell will be capable of maxxing out a game liky Crysis. Furthermore, within a handful of years the average Dell will be able to wirelessly connect to TVs and act as an easy-to-use media centre for movies, TV, music and games. Because of this, PC gaming will also become much more popular (both in the "casual" and "hardcore" senses). So why would anyone buy a console?

Crysis is 10 times better than 99% of your stupid console arcade crappy FPS's with crappy graphics, linear levels, and unbalanced multiplayer. Deal with it, you can't afford a computer than can enjoy the open-worldness and awesomness of Crysis, so you bash it.

Now that most developers are saying, "This gen is going to last a long time, we can basically create a game and make it look exactly how we want with virtually no comprimises" Its become apparent that graphics are no longer a hindrance to immersion. Without the PC fanboys (in other words anyone who can't afford a console) last advantage no longer a real advantage, I see virtually no point in gaming on a PC with the exception of old school point-and-click games like RTS's and Diablo clones. They'll claim that PC's are the preferred platform for FPS's, but that's because they have little skill and cannot control the precision dual analogs. Let me see. 94 modifications and 727 custom levels all created by the mod community and you think no one plays crysis? BTW this is only 1 site with crysis mods and custom content. Also with mods like mechwarrior, Far-crysis and with other few hundreds mods i wouldnt call crysis dead
