PS3 destroyed thexbox 360 in Black Friday and a repeat will happen during christmas. The Xbox 360 hasn't outsold the PS3 ever since the drop in price. A strong 2010 first-party line-up from sony to support the PS3 will be the final nail in the coffin for the xbox 360. I think it's safe to say that the 360 will be in last place by the end of this gen while the PS3 will be in first since wii sales are also slowing down.

What you need to do is figure out how much the PS3 is outselling the Wii monthly, then divide that into the lead the Wii currently enjoys. Once you've done that, come back and tell us how many months it would take for the PS3 to overtake the Wii. Math doesn't have your back here.

i think 1st position is not what PS3 or sony is looking for Wii is totally a different thing and main competitor sfor sony is MS or 360 i think sony would be very happy to take 2nd place this time but sute its going to be a very hard fight in the end

That is assuming that current sales trends occur. Another price drop, the coming out of a "System Seller" exclusive (I am referring to any of the consoles) and suddenly the game changes. The current look at it, with Sales still strong on Wii, and the PS3 sale surging strongly, it might be a matter of time that will cause the PS3 to overtake the Wii, but still has a ways to go yet. But saying a particualr formula with what you have and it is wrong,is wrong. Can any one predict how well games well sell, how many systems will sell because of games because of Holidays that occur, I doubt it. But the next couple of years, these will be interest times for all involved and hopefully with good games, we will be the winner :)

People still think the PS3 is going to catch up to the Wii?

It could pass the 360 at this point and even then it'll probably just barely do so before the next line of consoles are starting to be released. But the Wii... it's pretty much impossible at this point.
