Many of the games listed are or will be on the PC...

Kinect is cool, but it is an add on and we all know that add ons never truly suceed, at the end of the day Kinect will sell between 2-4 million, that won't be a large enough userbase to get a ton of games.

Microsoft should have packaged it in with the console, the same thing will happen with the Sony Move..

If a peripheral is not packed in with the console from day 1, it will not have overwhelming success.

By the same token that 360 got ME2, cows claim ownage stealing Mass Effect 2 away... when in reality, it was never an exclusive anyway. Neither is SC:C, and cows don't even need a $1000 gaming rig to play it, they could just play it on Onlive if they were desperate to have it.

Cows have Move, Lems have Kinect. Either way, everyone loses. Just kidding. Some people like one, some people like the other. None of the launch games were particularly well received on either system except Dance Central, so +1 for Kinect I guess.

PS3 and 360 had relatively similar years. I'd give the edge to the Wii in terms of exclusives this year.

honestly the 360 didn't have a good year in terms of game, my most hyped game this year was Alan Wake which was a terrible letdown and my second most hyped game won't be launched in europe until next year (Deathsmiles)

and the PS3 didn't have a good year either. It started out great, but it fizzled into a drought as well

2 AAAEs, and 9 AAEs. There's a game included on the PC list, though, which is largely based upon an XBLA arcade game (Worms Reloaded) and probably should be considered a downloadable-level game for comparative purposes.

Currently the Wii has 1 AAAAE and 8 AAE. But the system almost certainly has at least one more left this year (Epic Mickey).

Edit: I just realized the chart has not yet been updated to include Wii Party, Kirby's Epic Yarn, Goldeneye 007, Sonic Colors or DKCR. I believe the Wii won the exclusive metagame across all systems this year pretty handily.

Sorry to disagree with this statment, the only thing i saw kind of interesting for 360 this year was Alan Wake.

Guess we can agree with that, especially since the multiplats were better than the exclusives this year ^^ ZHP is a Roguelike game from NIS which offers tons of hours to play thanks to randomly generated dungeons and a lot of stuff to do, including leveling in the 5digit area.

IMO exclusives matter at least a little bit more than multiplats because they are are games you can only find on ONE console....

A person doesn't have to spend 1K to build a gaming rig anymore, I built a modest Quad core for the kids last christmas for a touch under 500, it plays everything for them at modest resolutions.

Taking the PC out of the picture.. It was the year of the Wii and with plenty more exclusive titles coming out in 2011, not to mention the launch of the 3DS, next year will be the year of Nintendo.

Generally speaking, I'm not a big fan of the Wii (though I do own one) but I'd say this was the year of the Wii for me. This is the first year it's offered me more great games than any of the other platforms and that's what makes it the system of the year for me.
