That said. Nintendo has gotten to cocky and really learned none of the important lessons this gen so if they crash and burn, I will laugh. (I will still play all their games though because as a publisher when they do release games they absolutely kick ass)

While I agree somewhat with your thread title I do not agree with how you got to that conclusion.

Other companies do this to.. most infamously is Namco Bandai with the Tales Of series.

i have a feeling you're referring to the whole Xenoblade thing, and it is sad.

as for Megaman Legends 3 (a game by CAPCOM), this is a rare occurence known as a game being "cancelled". personally i'm unfamiliar with this phenomenon but understand it only happens at least once every two generations.

Why are you blaming Nintendo for Mega Man? That's all Capcom. And they obviously had good reason to cancel it. I don't understand why people are petitioning to get a game that probably wasn't going to be great to get released. If anything, we should be asking Capcom to release a new IP.

Nintendo can't force a third-party publisher to do anything. If Capcom feels like continuing development on Legends 3 wasn't a worth investment, they have the right to trash it.

Nintendo can't force Capcom to release a game. That is not actually possible. They can encourage in various ways but you can't force another company to do anything.

Nintendo can't force another company to release a game that wasn't finished. And what does DNF have to do with ninty fans begging for games?

Nintendo made a ton of money selling wii's to the casual market and sold a lot of casual games. Nintendo saw no need to appeal to their core gamers because they were doing so well. Its quite sad because it was the core gamers that stayed with nintendo the whole way even through the gamecube.
