Well , garbage or not , it is the second most viewed video game in the world after League of Legends as we speak.
Let alone the fact that it started with few thousands unique players monthly logins and as we speak there are around 11 million unique players logins monthly. Every single month since its release it gets higher and higher monthly logins. Thats insane if you ask me. And thats after 2 years. Let me know how many HALO 5 will have in 2018.
Why are you comparing it to Halo 5? This isn't a comparison to Halo 5, I'm just informing you that CS:GO is garbage, it's a mechanically unsound game and training wheels for the previous games in the franchise.
I compared CS GO twitch and streaming views to HALO 5 to point out how far and beyond PC gaming is in that front , nothing more nothing else. You called it garbage and i just proved you wrong. Garbages wont generated more and more gamers as time pass ... garbages population shrinking after a while and thats not whats happening with CS GO.
CS GO is as close as CS 1.6 as it gets , CS overall is and will always be one of those games that made E-sports a reality since early 2000 when noone knew what E-sports were ( or werent that popular either ) and one of the most played multiplayers games of all time let alone popular. more than 16 years in life and look at it. With only 3 games in the series is the chieftain of multiplayer FPS by far when at the same time CS Source was a crap. So in reality , with 2 games ( 1 of them being mod ) is the king
If for you is garbage , well ok i guess.
Yeah, you do realize I played the game since its first day in the closed beta all the way up until about 18 months ago right? The game died, it was dead because it's a mechanical piece of shit, for nearly 2 years it averaged a lowly 35,000 players a day.
CS:GO only grew to infamy because of the Arms Deal update, the introduction of weapon skins, casual features for the casual community. After that the game grew, grew at a staggering rate, not because it's a mechanically sound version of Counter-Strike, it's junk in that regard, but rather because of a gimmick. The fact is mechanically it's nearly unchanged to the state it was in while it was dead, it didn't take off because people didn't like playing it because it's a bad game, it's an inferior functioning game to even Source which is saying a lot.
Now all of these casual skin nerds have flooded the competitive scene by playing casual online match making on 64 tick servers and think they're now competitive players. The game has practically become a meme because of such a garbage uninterested community, it's used for cam whoring now, people who just gamble for skins, people trying to enter the scene just to profiteer from competitive earnings. It's a sick joke, it's a damn disgrace to what Counter-Strike is, most of these people don't give a shit about it, it's just the in thing right now on the internet.
When we started playing Counter-Strike it was because it was a good game, it was built extremely well, mechanically sound and rivaled by nothing else, that's how the community was formed and grew, notoriety of the game mechanically. GO? It's a mediocre shooter with poor netcode, terrible hit detection, clunky and floaty movement, poor directional audio, improper player to world scaling, a poorly designed replacement recoil system, washed out and bland color palette, forced post processing and the list goes on... It survives because of features, gimmicks and an equally as gimmick filled community...
I don't think CS:GO is garbage because I just like talking out of my ass, it's garbage because it's across the board inferior to the older games in the franchise and successful because of trends, a newage community involved in it for all the wrong reasons and gimmicks...
