it's safe to say WII graphics won't look any better than they do now.

let's be honest here, no violence please. WII is graphically a gamecube with a motion sensing under the hood, if you deny that then i feel bad for you cause WII isn't about to sprout any more polygons out of thin air. the GC had already been unlocked-- what you're seeing now (with WII), guys, is the real deal. this is WII pumping it's best graphics. there'll be no "untapping" in now or the future. see how bad mario galaxy looks!

The Wii is more powerful than Gamecube. If you deny that, you obviously haven't researched the system specs.

hey im first to reply cool now on to the nailing and leaving first of all developers are always finding new ways to make games look better on existing hardware second and this is the bigger deal the people who play on the wii dont really give a crap about graphics if u have noticed it sold anyways and man did it ever sell also they are porting the best looking gc game to the wii (RE) and guess what they are upgrading the graphics so what im saying is are the graphics to come promossing no but they will be better that i can assure u.

if it's more powerful shouldn't the nitendo mascot look a tiny bit better? because he is the most important top dog, but right now he is jaggalicious   !!

The Wii is more powerful than the cube. Its sad to see the many developers havent properly utilized the console. I mean, half the games on the wii are essentailly ports of PS2 games. Once the PS2 dies, maybe we will actually see some Wii games that dont look horrible.

Metroid, SMG, Brawl though.. all look fantastic.

Again... watch the video. Super Mario Galaxy looks awesome for a Wii game. Better than a Cube game.

I'm seriously starting to think that the Wii won't beat the Xbox in terms of graphics. I know its stronger but Team Ninja did a hell of a job with Ninja Gaiden. So good luck trying to beat that.

Just something for people to consider when they talk about the Wii.

Most Development Companies did little to nothing on the Gamecube. The Wii uses enhanced processor and GPU from the Gamecube Family. Its all around about double the potential of the Gamecube.

With the lack of experiance using the flipper family based GPUs etc Most developers are getting their first real look at the components to develop with.

Those who have past experiance you can see it in their work. The ignored nintendo during GC days crowd shows it too by the lack of knowledge.

you barely know anything about the wii. Zelda: TP Wii version is a PORT. It was originally made for GC. Sigh... Stupid fanboys.

OH MY GOD! A port looks the same. That's it, I'm convinced.

Wii = GC

Funny. You sure picked pictures that completly misrepresented the great graphics of the game... which kind of nullifies your whole topic.

Besides Nintendo themselves, which other developer is showing this? And Ubisoft has worked on Gamecube a lot, it sure doesnt shw on the Wii right now. Now they said they will concentrate more, but I'll wait and see.

Red Steel looked Decent and aside from some rushed areas was good enough for a luanch title graphically. Its hard to judge too many developers yet because  most games are ports and the made from scratch are coming.

Ports will always suffer in areas. if the developers with their ground up games keep sucking then they have issues. EA seems to be having a good time on the Wii. Harry Potter looks good. Boogie has good graphics as well. FF: CC looks great on the Wii as well by SE.

Ubisoftcertainly pushed lots of money to get red steel rushed for launch. In their own words they wanted to be there first no matter what happened

Nobody ever disputed Twilight Princess for the Wii was supposed to look better. It was no secret it was built for the Gamecube so stop trying to find an argument where there is not one.

In fact in an interview the director said that the development team lobbied to up the visuals for the Wii in the extra time they had with the last delay but the request was shot down and focus instead was spent on tweaking the game to perfection.

I agree the Wii visuals have been slightly dissapointing. But for the foreseeable future it just doen't matter, Nintendo's own software lineup this year looks incredibly fun. But hey, wheres the shiny character models and plasticy walls, right? Who cares, Wii owners knew what they were getting into a long time ago.

This thread is just another fanboy trying feverishly to justify why Nintendo's "inferior" hardware is tearing up the sales charts. Anti-Nintendo people just can't wrap their head around teh success of the Wii.

dude.....how mario galaxy would run if it had backgrounds full of detail, all its has is empty space, no polygons to render, thats why it can run at 60 fps

I sorta have to agree with you. I mean, when Nintendo says Graphics have reached thier peak I think what they are saying is more on the line of we are happy with the cartoon environments we are now able to create for the typical games we make. I doubt Mario, Pikmin, and Pokemon are ever going to look much more "realistic" than they do now. Sure resolutions may improve and draw distances and what not, but with the exception of Metroid and maybe Zelda to some degree, I really dont see any Nintendo games that I believe will ever strive for photo realism.

i think u have a point in saying they wont improve much. but if all games look as good as smg and mp3 its all good.
