I dont think anyone yet alone sony should be thanked for bringing trash to us gamers.campzorThis of it as more of a infrastructure beta test for future games not smitten by bethesda.
The fact it is on consoles is what turned me off from this game. It is sad how many mmos are going the easy action style for casuals.CanYouDigltThis. FF14 suffers because of it... Anyway, it's no big loss, TES has been bad for a years.
$60 ($120 here in Australia) for the game plus $15 a month subscription on consoles, this is going to go free to play very quickly.

sounds like bullshyt and the reason i believe that is why would sony not just adapt everquest over if they wanted an mmo so badly?
this story has a major plot hole.
ya i don't buy games + a sub... it's one or the otherAnd who is going to buy it and pay the subs?

Yes us true hardcore gamers are not happy with this kind of mainstreaming and dumming down of things..:P
real games should play like this:P

Thank you for dumbing the game down to work on control pads. Nice work Sony, now children can enjoy it.
They probably anticipated it would flop on PC and needed more people to buy it, it looks crap and they probably had to beg sony to allow it on their console.

The game has 3 million beta testers frothing at the mouth to try out, the game is still a long way off to release. There has been no major marketing on Bethesda, this game will be far from a flop. If a shit game like Guild Wars 2 can sell 3.5 mil than an Elder Scrolls can sure as hell sell more. Especially if its being sold on both consoles and pc.

GW2 didnt need a console sized marketing budget. 3 million beta testers or 3 million frothing at the mouth to try it out? Which one is it?
EverQuest Next is also coming though....[QUOTE="Riverwolf007"]

However more options for a brand new platform =/= bad. If it were say in 3-4 years time, I would agree that Sony should be a bit more selective of what 3rd party games it would/should support, but since the goal right now is to get a decent amount of games and genres into the platform (thus having something for everyone, be it bad or not) I can easily see this story being 100% true.
It falls right in line with what Sony and MS seem to be trying to do in the first year(s) of their consoles.
it still makes very little sense.one of the everquests could have been ported over and it would have been sony raking in that subscription fee and it would not have had anything to compete with.
eq and eq frontiers was one of my favorite mmos of all time and it was on ps2.
why not recreate that on the ps4?
like i said.
when there is a plot hole this huge it makes me question the original statement.
could sony have been begging for elder scrolls?
sure they could have, but why?
and if they were begging why did they not go for a deal to keep it only on ps4?
this was probably just some throwaway hype generation that they wanted to get out for some reason but took no effort to think through or worry about the questions it raises.
maybe eq next will be on ps4 and sony wanted there to be a subscription mmo to throw their f2p one into contrast with.

Yeah, and it will cost $15 a month to play it. LOL!! Thanks Sony. Maybe all your kiss @$$ Cows will be playing it on the PS4. I won't be wasting my money on this unless it goes F2P. I've wasted at least $1000+ on WoW, EQ2, Asherons Call 1 & 2, Planetside and a few other MMO's. Only MMO's I'm playing now is GW2 and Planetside 2 with no fees.
it still makes very little sense.[QUOTE="Riverwolf007"]

What would be the point in porting a PS2 MMO when the EQ team is already working on the sequel (which has an 80% chance of ending up on the PS4 given Sony's behaviour lately)? It would be just wasted time and money. With EQ Next looming I doubt a port of an older EQ would do much. This way they get a 3rd party MMO, from another very big franchise as well, without spending nearly the same amount of time and money they would have to otherwise. (addind to other MMO-ish games like Planetside 2, Warframe, etc)
Now obviously I don't think Sony made the game "possible" on next-gen consoles, the interest from Bethesda had to be there from the start. Perhaps them (Sony) pushing for it and making it easy and simple to make a decent port was the final "push" Bethesda needed to approach consoles with this game.
lol, i'm not talking about doing eq frontiers or anything that thing would make you want to claw your eyes out.i just think the ps4 would run a mean version of whatever the latest eq is and sony could have had that subscription money and no competition.
anyway i had forgotten about eq next so maybe that is what will go to the ps4.
since sony has such a hardon for f2p right now that would make sense to me.
then they would have elder scrolls and elder scrolls would make the f2p eq more appealing.

I don't care that it's on consoles at all. I care that they want to charge you $15 a month to play it. No Thanks.
Now if the PS4 gets EQ Next I'll be all over that. I'd might go the PC route though as it would probably get the patches and DLC faster.
I refuse to pay fees for an MMO anymore. I'd gladly pay for extra DLC every 2-3 months. I honestly have no problems buying the game as long as I'm not paying crazy fees every money.
Isn't this $15 a month now, yeah thanks Sony. :|gago-gagolol. it's a mmo. SUB was going be there either way lol
Poor cows, $15 per month + the fee for play online on PS4 (unless of course, they decide to give up playing online the other games). And they still thanks Sony :lol:Miroku32At least Sony is removing that psn+ for f2p/p2p games... MS won't even do that
