Kind of like that one above, aye hazy? :P
I'm guessing most people don't know that parts of it are playable. It's all too early to call a game, but it's certainly getting there. One re-build at a time. Looks like it'll be quite something. They've got the money, let's see if they have the management to deal with it all...
game is still in beta testing. How can we consider a best graphics when game doesnot even exist at all. come on. star citizen and squadron 42 doesnot exist.
we are in mid of 2017
Needs more gameplay

I know the game was announced in 2012, with an initial release of 2014, and a switch from CryEngine to Amazon Lumberyard. I know games can easily take 3-5 years to make (or more) but how long are people really willing to wait for a full release?
I think we are hitting over 4 years of development time, how long is too long? Are people really going to be ok with waiting another 2-4 years for this one game to be complete? That's 6-8 years of Dev time
Needs more gameplay

It's the journey and watching a game go from a concept video to a fully functioning entity. Also every backer can play now, it's not complete but it's certainly getting there. 6 to 8 years dev time is nothing for one game on the scale of Star Citizen but it's not one game it's two. Squadron 42 will be a fully fledged cinematic story driven AAA adventure in it's own right, it's not a call of Duty or Battlefield, 4 hour single player game.
Needs more gameplay

If it's the most epic game ever, people will wait for it. This is easily the most ambitious game in the works, currently. And chances are, it will still be in a year or 2.
@Wasdie:
It looks pretty believable, actually.
Yeah. They have a physically accurate lighting engine and they rewrote the CryEngine's fog mechanics to better interact with their lighting. The result is some very believeable fog and atmospheric effects.
@appariti0n: It's really just Cryengine with Amazon web services built in. It's also free, which is a big bonus.
To be fair, it was a slightly newer branch of the CryEngine that they had originally started with (I believe they upgraded their branch once though to be on the same level as Lumberyard), and they did have to port all of their pretty monstrous changes they made to the CryEngine. It probably held them up just a bit but it will pay off long term.
I've lost interest for now but the second SQ42 comes out im grabbing the latest HOTAS and gonna kick some space alien ass!
You know what you look even more impressive? A release date.

You only have to take one look and compare the top PC games to the top PS4 games to know which system actual cares about gameplay... spoilers.. its not PS4.
Lol well PC gamers have no gameplay, but you can ogle at some useless shiny graphics.
@Star67: Well 4 years is not long even for a bigger songle player game, and SC aiming to be the most complex MMO so far.
ME:A 5 years, GTA5 5years to console-7years to PC, SWTOR 5 years (made by Bioware, big studio, snd it's much more simple than SC.
SC 4.5 years, and they started from zero. So i'd say around 7 years, so around 2019ish maybe sounds about right.
Glad to see PC gamers finally getting a game that takes advantage of their overpriced pieces of metal and plastic.

poor depressed peasant :(
@Wasdie: Do you still play SC? Been looking for people to play with besides randoms, if you' re interested let me know my citizen name is the same as here.
Back on topic I still have faith in the game and am patiently awaiting 3.0, maybe then I'll get to actually use my Connie. The game continues to look good graphically, but one thing I am worried about are escorts for the bigger ships. Most are sitting ducks against even a solo pilot let alone a squad of decked out fighters, I feel that once mining and cargo go live Sc will be a pirate fest.
As of now I can't even use my Connie without at least one other crew member, if I try to fly solo.Booommm! Back in my hornet. I don't see escorting being very enticing to solo players, it seems kind of boring, probably a nice payout, but still boring. IMO it seems like a squad of fighters( Bucc, Gladius, SH) will be op when it comes to pirating, throw in a wildcard ship like a Cutlass or a lancer and cargo ships have a real problem in areas not patrolled by security. Idk either way I still love the game and can't wait for 3.0 and to see the new ship cig teased.#Stealthbomber
a crowdfunded budget of 150 million dollars. They are still asking for more money. The game doesn't has a release date or even a progress report of how far in development they are after half a decade in development. They used 10 grand of your money on a cappuccino machine but they gave you some update, so it's fine....
