I have been trying to make this decision for a long time but I have finally come to a conclusion, the 360.

1.I've always wanted to have the best online experience and the 360 seems to give it to me.

2.Even though this goes for both systems, I've always wanted a system to take adavantage of my 1080i LCD t.v. . :D

3.Halo 3, Mass Effect, Blue Dragon, Lost Oddessy, Bioshock just all look to good to ignore and I think the 360's year advantage over the PS3 will help it in the longrun.

4.Two consoles for the price of a PS3. :P (Wii and 360)

So I'm decided................ Wii60 FTW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This could all change and I'll go PSWii but who knows? Right now my decision is final. 8)

On a slightly related note I have a two questions: Does the 360 come with everything I need to take advantage of my 1080i resolution out of the box or do I have to by seperate cables? Same with getting a X-Box Live connection, do I need to buy anything extra?

I usually don't buy a game system based on what games are coming out but what games are out anyway all it is is mindshare you may come around to the PS3 later who knows I don't have any reason to be biased

As far as your AV question goes I think the component cables can do that?  Or you may need VGA or the HDMI cables I really don't know much about that.

I think you need a wifi adapter.  And, are you getting an Elite?  I assume you have the money if you were willing to buy a PS3, and the Elite has HDMI port,

which is the best current cabling.

Ethernet it the internet cable you plug into your 360 and your router, if your wireless, you can buy the wireless adapter but its very expensive (£60/$100)

All you have to do is plug in the HD component cables, go into system menu (in your xbox 360) choose display and change it to 1080i it's not very hard to do.

You get your headset, component cables, ethernet cable. If you want wifi you can buy it pretty cheap on ebay, and get an XBL Gold Card for 12 months. And you're set.

I think GeoW, Rainbow six vegas, GRAW2 are the most popular online games last week.

and games that I'm specialy looking forward to are Double Dragon(arcade), Alan Wake, The Darkness,C&C3.

Respectable decision. Both systems offer some games I'm anticipated for. 360, like you said, there's: Mass Effect, Halo 3, Blue Dragon, Lost Odyysey and BioShock. While PS3 has: MGSIV, LittleBigPlanet, FFXIII, Uncharted and White Night. Imho though, the PC has the most promising upcoming lineup. Crysis, Spore, Hellgate: London and Dragon Age alone warrant me getting an amazing PC.

I recommend playing Condemned Criminal Origins, Kameo and Call of Duty 2/3.

Some upcoming games I can think of on the top of my head include: Mass Effect, Blue Dragon, Bioshock, Lost Odyssey, Alan Wake, Eternal Sonata, Fable 2, Cry On, and Resident Evil 5.

If you get the core 360 it only comes with composite cables. So you will need to get either componet cables are VGA ones.

If you are getting a Preimium 360 it comes with componet cables to do Hi-def plus Headset,Harddrive, ethernet cord, ect

Best 360 online games are.

  • GRAW 1,2
  • Rainbow six
  • Gears of War
  • PGR3
  • Halo 2--still real popular
  • Call of duty 3

Yeah, I'm leaning toward the premium. It seems to have everything I need. Just a few questiond though: Does the premium 360 allow for 1080i using the cables it comes with? Has anyone had trouble running out of space with the 20 gig hard drive?

SyluxElite

Rainbow Six: Vegas is awesome...Marvel Ultimate Alliance is pretty good fun also...Crackdown Coop is a blast too but try the demo first to see if you like it...If you like western RPGs try Oblivion...The 360 library is rock solid at this point. MS has improved their library exponentially over the  original Xbox...

The thing about the cables: With the premium you will get all the cables you need to hook up your 360 to almost any TV minus the ones with HDMI....The elite comes with every cable conceivable and a HDMI adapter for audio, if your receiver doesn't have an HDMI input...Component will do you just fine for 1080i although I'd go for the 720P setting as it's better for games..Ethernet (network) connection is better if you have a house that's wired. To me, it's worth the trouble to run the wires instead of buying the adapter. Spend the 100 bucks on games...

I usually ignore these kinds of threads because it's usually a stupid fanboy making a passive agressive stab at another system and not seriously making a decision, but you're a decent poster and I trust that you are telling the truth.

The 360 with live is a blast. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

not that i know off but like i said the only thing 1080i is good for is for HD-DVD i havent seen any games that support that anyway so its kinda useless.aerziel

What are you talking about?  Tons of games support 1080i.   Pretty much every single 360 game so far.  Look on the back of the boxes.

[QUOTE="aerziel"]good for you and abou the 1080i dunno of any games that support that anyway and x-boxlive is $ 50 a year so you have to pay for that.SyluxElite
I don't mind the $50 but do I need seperate cables to get it? I have broadband and wirless internet.

I'm pretty sure *every* 360 title has 1080i enabled.
If you get premium 360 you'll get the HD cables and a ethernet cable for a wired internet connection.
I advise you buy a play and charge kit as it's cheaper than using tons of AA batteries (just make sure no puppies chew through it -.-)

Can anyone tell me about some good , flourishing online games out now?

Also, mabey other games I can track on my Gamespot account other then: Halo 3, Mass Effect, Blue Dragon, Lost Oddessy, and Bioshock.

heretrix

WOW your a really nice guy. Thanks for all the help and yes, I am TRULY serious. :D

What is the use of the HDMI port on the 360 Elite? Is it only use so you can get 1080p in games?

Yes, you can even do 1080p.  And the space hasn't really been a problem for me.  I just delete stuff I don't want anymore if I even get close to running out.  You can always redownload stuff that you've already bought for free because it is linked to your gamertag.  Not saying 120 gb wouldn't be nice though.
