In my opinion, not only the best game of the decade, but one of the best games of all time. I remember how against the game i was before it came out, too. I was (and still am) such an RE fanboy, and the fact that it was going to be an over the shoulder game and change the series normal mechanics was offensive to me. But then i played it, and my fears were immediately gone. I think ive beaten it 25 times, and i STILL love playing through it! And now getting to experience it in hi-def is just going to be amazing. I actually think it would be cool if they made a retail disc with upgrades of RE4, Code Veronica, REmake and RE: Zero (sooooo underrated). Id certainly pay 60 bucks for it. Anyone else as excited for this as me?
Id rather have a remake of the original games and RE4 completely forgotton along with RE5...RE1 through code veronica the only true resident evil games.
It definitely is one of the best games of all time and I think the HD remake will be great, however, I don't think I'll be willing to pay full price for the game.
If there was ever a game that had the possibility of winning GOTY a second time, over five years after it's original release, it's RE4. It's excellece and perfection has never been touched. It's to video games as The Godfather is to films. Yes, RE4 is the greatest game ever made bar none. You can say whatever you want and argue otherwise, but at the end of the day nothing comes close to RE4 - fact. It's perfect. The definitive video game. Totally buying this re-release.
Well I can't wait until its relesed because RE4 is the only Biohazard game I haven't played. People say its the best game in the series and I want to experience it.

Really? I liked RE4 and RE5. I still been playing RE5 multiplayer with some friends.
I am looking forward to the remakes but I hope they are full 1000/1000 on achievements. But I want the originals as well, probably more so than RE4.
I'd rather have the original RE series in HD than 4 (RE 4 still looks pretty good in my eyes). Although I'd rather have them go the GC remake route and re-imagine the game instead of just making an ond PSone game look pretty :D.

This isn't a full blown remake. It's just a port that supports higher resolutions.

Me either... I've already bought the damn game twice, not buying it again.
I was so happy when I bought resident evil 4 for my gamecube. Its the only single player game I never got bored of. The more and more you played the plot got better and better.
Now my resident evil 4 disc is too scratched and my gamecube doesnt work.

This. There is already the PC version and it's texture, lighting and mouse mods, if you only want RE4 in HD. The only "bugs" that I know of and if we can call them that, is the poor porting and lack of shaders and lighting in the European and Asian versions, and the broken lighting that the European and Asian patch and the retail USA vesion had. I'm not sure if it is an actual "bug" or all versions were like that, is the shoddy hit detection. I have only played the Wii one and it was better, don't know about the GC and the PS2 one, which was the one form which it was ported.
Also I would prefer RE2 remake or "the real RE3" which is Code Veronica.
One gen out? What a sad waste of time. Unfortunately, since other people line up for being fed the same games re-cooked only a few years later, companies will continue to bypass making actual new, original games, and simply re-release things we've played before.
No, not at all, i've played and finished RE4 so many times by now that i won't spend any more money on it just for a couple of better looking textures, on the other hand, i would love to see REmake 2, that would be sweet.
After playing it on Wii, I simply can't go back to aiming with an analog controller. If I do buy the HD remake it'll have to be on PS3. But that means buying Move, which is expensive... I probably won't bother :P
