4 Scrolling shooters, Starfox. Not what I would have chosen. I'll go with R-Type, I'm a fan of real mans shooters.
out of those, gradius
since it's limited to series, I'd go with donpachi (donpachi, dodonpachi, dodonpachi dai-ou-jou, dodonpachi dai-fukkatsu)
if we weren't limited to series, I'd say ketsui kizuna jigoku tachi extra
anything Cave develops turns into pure gold and with the exception of Treasure and G.Rev, I almost feel as if they're single handedly keeping the genre alive.

Mass Effect series is the right answer
HavocV3
you don't pilot spaceships in Mass Effect.
so no, it's not the right answer, at all.
Says that after you've played Mass Effect 2 in ME 2 you can control the Normandy to go to another planet, although the control is really terrible[QUOTE="HavocV3"][QUOTE="ihsanqueen"]

not yet! but I plan on doing so. I still have my dreamcast and tend to play it a couple of times per month so I'm sure I'll get around to doing so. The promo videos I've seen for it look awesome!
Have you tried it out yet?

Never mind what I said, this is actually the correct answer. Such an amazing game, my absolute favorite on the Gamecube.Rogue Squadron :D
Raymundo_Manuel
i imagine all of the people saying starfox haven't actually played the other games because they are quite old.
imo ikaruga is the best because its so unique and is really hard, yet fun
The only ones out of those I've heard of are Star Fox and Gradius. Laser Age on the PC was a fun little game though. :)
Gummi Ship (KH 1&2)>>>>>> Star Fox 64>>>>>>>>>> Everything else.
GreenGoblin2099
I completely forgot about Gummi ships.
The second one was fantastic but the gummi ship on the first wasn't too fun until you figured out how to build your own ship.
