So what do you think is the biggest dissapointment this generation?
This topic is locked from further discussion.
Imo, I would have to say either Assassin's Creed or Super Smash Bros: Brawl.
Assassin's Creed: Great premise, could have been a spectacular genre defining game, but monotony and repetitiousness kill this game within the first 15 minutes.
Super Smash Bros. Brawl: On its own merits its not a bad game, Infact its pretty enjoyable. That said, this game is still a disappointment in the way that Halo2 and Deus Ex 2 were disappointments, The previous iterations completely overshadow them. SSBB did not add anything of value to SSBM, infact some would argue that it actually "broke" the game a bit more. SSBM was a step foward for the series. SSBB was a step back, or a step sideways at best.
yea i was a tad disappointed in that too...i mean it still had a fun value to it...and i really liked in a way because it was my first next-gen game...but it was nothing like the first one and the story was too dull the nightclub mission and dark ops online was the best things about that gamePerfect dark 0
Cmon Rare WTF was that :?

nothing like the N64 one which is VASTLY superior in the fun factor, story, replayability and feature department.

Actually the N64 game hasnt aged well at allAt least PDZ has a fantastic multiplayer
for me,
Wii - too much focus on waggle games.
PS3 - not releasing games as early as possible
360 - RROD, paying for online.

Hey atleast thats optional, devs are forcing people nowadays, especially through MP, dont have the maps? Sorry no decent games for you..."Microtransactions" (for all the systems)
I mean, developers try to milk us whenever they see an oportunity :|

i still play PD64 ALL the time...i think it has aged VERY wellDead Risingwhat? the only thing that disappointed me in that game was the rather extremely extremely EXTREMELY small text other that, that game was pure gold

Dead RisingAgree'd pressing X the entire game and listening to "otis" calling you all the time got boring 3 hours in and I havennt touched it since.

Well to be honest, there are good developers that don't milk the fans (Criterion is one of them) and they do good DLC that is worth every penny.
But when I see things like the MM9 DLC i just want to bomb Capcom HQ, yeah I know it's optional, but I am pretty sure that they could easily had integrated those "special things" in the main games

I agree with this.
sigh...does no one truly know the history behind that game? people...the game the WE got was NOT in development for 10 years...in fact the first too human that was being made had nothing to do with what the game is about now...it had a completely different story and everything...and it went from console to console like three times, so past versions had to be scrapped seriously...the game we got now was really only in development for maybe 3 years...just the name and the general idea of the game was the only thing that still existed from 10 years agoToo Human; nearly 10 years of development for what? A terribly awful game

Yeah what happend?, WII was Ripe for a good FPS, and yet nothing came out at that time.
Hopefully CoD W@W can fill that void.
Maybe the conduit will be good too :? I think alot of the FPS dev companies for the Wii are too concerned about graphics. They should understand that if Wii owners were seriously concerned with amazing graphics, they wouldnt have bought a Wii! Just make a good FPS, graphics are secondary. If you give me a truly exciting FPS with mid range PS2 graphics, I dont care, as long as its fun and has a stable frame rate. Thats one thing thats annoying me about the Conduit. They are hyping its graphics, like Wii owners give a damn. Dunno about you guys, but when I want good graphics i turn on my PS3/X360

Ummm...... your point? Games like Half Life 2 had a long development cycle but guess what? it turned out okay. Failing to find a console to release your game on is no excuse for a bad game

not just the console...the game itself COMPLETELY changed...at one point the story was completely different as was the gameplay finding a console to release it on was only part of the problem...the main problem was changing everything about the game...and i mean just about EVERYTHING[QUOTE="II_Seraphim_II"][QUOTE="Pinkyimp"][QUOTE="darkodonnie"]FPS on the Wiifiercedeity901

am i the only one who played and actually LOVED MP3: corruption?ohhh no..i loved it. some say its not a true fps shooter, more of a fpa. but it was a solid samus experience game...i was expecting exactly what the game gave me.
i was disappointed that mario and samus both got respectable new titles for the current gen wii, but link got a port:(...im sure zelda w/ the wii in mind first would be a monumental epicness (not to mitigate tp though)
i wanna play a new zelda so bad

Yeah I my MOTHERLOVIN PROTOMAN MOTHERLOVIN NOW!!!! lol I feel your pain. We waited for MM9 forever so we shouldn't have to wait to get all of the games content. The Wii and STALKER Clear Sky.
Yeah, I said it.

oh no you didnt !

Biggest dissapointment... this generation hasn't rekindle'd my love for gaming, I'm pretty sure its pushed me further out than I though I would ever be.
Put simply I haven't played one that I have played more than once or want to for that matter, come to think of it 80% of my games are incomplete.
