For me it is simply too hard to call which one out of the Xbox 360 and PS3 is likely to sell more in the end.

That's how I expect it to play out. PS3 just has the best lineup and since people mainly buy consoles for the games I expect it to win. My predictions.

Um, both statements ask exactly the same question.

As things are right now, the 360 has a higher chance:

1.- It's the one that will arrive at the magical $200 figure first, unless Sony discontinues the PS3.

2.- There is a 8-10 million lead, that both Sony and Nintendo need to cover (and ninty is doing so impressively well, Sony... not so much).  

Wii.

Exactly... While the fanboys are running around ranting about how their console is "better" and finished "first" in some meaninless race, I'll be playing them all.

Not necessarily... just because the Wii has the best chance to be 1st, doesn't mean the PS3 and 360 have no chance.

Wii last after analyts etc are saying the shortages will last long into 2009..which isnt really that shocking the sales will soon take over and stay ahead of the 360 (im a wii60 owner)

as for ps3 i can see it beating the 360 as it has the japan edge in sales but it wont be a easy race this time nintendo will be up the front with ps3 this time.

And I don't think that the PS3 is going to do nearly good as the 360 - you may say that it just came out, so it has a while for sales to accelerate. However, a lot of the people who want a PS3 have already bought one by now (the hardcore crowd). Casuals, which will drive 360 and Wii sales, are slower to buy consoles.
