I havnt seen a game on next gen systems (besides wii) when I was playing that I noticed the Jaggies unless I REALLY searched for them. So they arnt that big of a deal, but people will always point them out in screenshots.justforlotr2004
screenshots are touched up alot of the time...so i dont think those should be valid.
Â
plus theres jaggies in every console game...ive never played one without them, yes there degrees to where you can horribly notice them or cant, but theyre there regardless.Â
in some early games they still are too visible, but most games don't have very visible jaggies.
I do hope that one they they wil be gone though.. i hate them on the Wii..Â

Since when? In motion you get the wonderful crawling edges effect.
Â
yep, hate those tooÂ

Mabey it's just to me then. In any game I play, the jaggies seem to just vanish when I'm running around. It's only when standing still that they show up. Even then...they don't really bother me.Â
I think its funny seeing console gamers complain about jaggies considering AA with high resolutions has been around a good 6 or so years on the PC, giving jaggie free gaming for a good long time. Yet, most PC gamers never made that big of a deal about the consoles having jaggies. It was just something you dealt with. Didnt stop games from last gen on consoles being bad, now did it?XaosII
Heh, good point.
I can play games without AA just fine, but I definately prefer to have it on.
Once you've experienced 2x2 or greater Supersampling you will find 4x Multisampling (Which is the most console games ever use) to be quite mediocre. Combined Supersampling/Multisampling is along the lines of perfection. Too bad it's so costly.

Jaggies aren't a big deal in console gaming cause youre usually far away from the screen and don't notice them but with PC gaming you are close to the screen so you can see jaggies easier, that's why High resolutions and antialiasing in PC games is so important.

(Gawd I hope that made sense >_>)

i just dont see why there should be any complaint about jaggies on current gen systems after PS2 and PS1, if you could handle those jaggies( and i did get used to them) anything less is awesome...actually in most of my more recenter PC games, like BF2, and FEAR( okay not that recent but you get the picture) i play with AA off and high texture quality, ive always preferred higher texutre quality to AA. plus i play on 1280x768 so jaggies arent as bad as ps2, the jagmaster.snakeofsolid
we could handle them because they were there and we didn't know better... i hated them back then but i thought there was nothing they could do about it. Now i know they can....Â
