What I want to know is. What do they do on their PSPs? You rarely see a single PSP game on the software charts.Gamingcucumber

Same could be said about American and Europe. People rarely buy a PSP to play the PSP's games. (If you catch my drift)

where is Tales of Innocencefor the DS?flashattackfina

lol @ ms ! what happen to them taking over japan like they said they would?deadmeat59

When did MS ever say they'd take over Japan? MS will never "win" Japan. The only thing I ever heard them say was that they wanted to do better than they did last time in Japan, which they are but theres nothing to brag about since even a 100% increase is still crap sales, and to get support from Japanese developers this gen, which they've been majorly successful at doing.

You always hear people saying that Japan is a one console place where there is 1 winner and everyone else crashes and burns... its looks like the Wii is who they're rolling with this gen. I haven't seen the Europe numbers, but it looks like theres a global trend of PS3 owners refusing to actually buy video games. I pray that MGS4 and GT5 aren't the only successful titles on the PS3 next year.

It's a shame that Mario games never sell as well in Japan as they do in America. I mean, it's sort of sad that they would even rather buy Mario Party DS than Galaxy. glitchgeeman

I do not get the "sad" part. These are Japanese consumers, not American consumers. Japanese consumers have different gaming tastes than American consumers. We need to accept that, as the Japanese need to accept that Americans have different gaming tastes than them.

It isn't about taste, it's about core gaming being all but dead in Japan. The same people who brought Valkyrie Profile a couple years back aren't the same people buying Wii Fit. Also Mario saved console gaming in the West, something that couldn't be said about his status in Japan.

[QUOTE="lt-rickhunter"]wow, Lost Odessey flopped in japan? deavincalhoun

wow gt prologue also flopped.

No it didn't

uh yes it did cows hyped it to sell like hot cakes and it flopped horribly.

No It didnt 108k in a week plus the downloads off psn which are most likely 20k plus for a demo it's amazing, if sales are strong in europe(they will be for sure) and good in America a demo of a game could sell up to a million copies!! now if that isnt free money to the developers I dont know what is....
