Wow PS3 is doing ok, considering the price and that it only has one great game so far. The Wii is doing great, but come on it's only 250$ for goodness sake.

The PS3 is $450 in Japan.......Â
Who would have guessed that Nintendo would make this big of a comeback.....
SIMPLY AMAZING. Gaming is back
The PS3 only sold 207 more then the PS2...GundamGuy0
Thats actually a good thing, The ps3 has basically no games japs like at the moment with the exception of 1-2 games and is high priced, it's good the ps2 sales are starting to drop off as in most places ps2 is still outselling the ps3, it's when the ps2 sales finally drop off totally like the gamecube and xbox 1 and more games come out on the ps3 where the ps2 adopters will start buying the ps3 and sales will boom[QUOTE="GundamGuy0"]The PS3 only sold 207 more then the PS2...bigLLL

Sales of the top 100 titles totalled 1,412,495 units, 120.18% of the previous week and 108.41% of the weekly average. Twenty-one new releases finished in the top 100, accounting for 42.16% of sales.
After 14 months on sale, the DSL breaks 10 million units sold. The DS+DSL combined have sold approximately 16.6 million units.
The previous record was 30+ months from the PS2.

8:1 Wii: PS3
Wii is consistently outselling all Sony platforms combined. Wii and DS software rule the charts.
PlayStation is over in Japan.

Actually no..... Japan will want a HD gaming machine which will be the ps3 that doesnt mean nintendo wont continue to own japan but once GT 5 more JRpg's and res 5 come out as if sales wont pick up a lot [QUOTE="Iyethar"]8:1 Wii: PS3

You don't understand. The right combination of system-selling software, pricedrops, and good fortune could result in the PS3 sales "picking up a lot", as it were, and that would put it about on the same level as GameCube in Japan when everything is said and done.Â

The PS2 sold 980,000 units during its first weekend in Japan, and the PS3 has yet to pass those numbers. His statement is valid.Â

Not in the least. I'm just providing another point of view. My point of view is that the PS3 sales data show a clear trend of a catastrophic nosedive unrivaled in recent memory. In the face of that, saying that they are doing "okay" is wishful thinking.
Xbox is nothing in Japan. PS3 is also nothing in Japan. It's that simple.Â
No **** like I said there are not any games the Japs like at the moment on the ps3 with the exception of 1-2 games to say japan Doesnt care about HD gaming is very arrogant of you and will set you up for future ownage once games to there taste start coming out, As if they dont want A hd console for this genbigLLL
8:1 sales ratio says: Japan doesn't want an HD console for this gen.Â

It's looking likely that Wii will pass 3 million LTD before PS3 passes 1 million. System War am over.Â
What exactly are they buying it for, I'd like to know? There's nothing to play on it. Very curious indeed, but I can't imagine it staying this way for much longer. The Wii craze will die out once people realise how limited it is without any good hardware, and more powerful systems (especially PS3) get strong libraries. Also, the shortage is currently feeding demand. Once Wiis are in abundant supply, no-one is going to want one.Timstuff

People buy stuff because they can't buy it? ... HUH, i've not heard of that one before I wonder what my advisor (econ professor) would think of that...Â

Don't kid yourself. The PS3 is doomed. When you only sell 9000 units more than 360 in Japan, the console is doomed. The PS3 will be abandoned even more by Japanese developers since the 360 has a strong global market share. The PS3 is losing in every territory by a wide margin. It looks grim for PS3.
