japan third party clamping down on sony

during TGS, most japan thirdparty ,including Square-Enix、Bandai-Namco..... all ask for sony to reduce premium charge.

Square-Enix want SCE don't charge any premium at all before a new price drop. Bandai-Namco also express the same request because nextgen game developing cost is two times higher than ps2 cost.and ps3 games are not selling well.

SCE refuse their request by saying premium charge is the Fundamental profit of console business.........

its good that they're doing that. probably becausea lot of their games are sony exclusive and they want their games to sell well. how do they expect their games to sell well if sony scares all its potential customers away with such high prices.

lets hope that 40GB $400 rumor is true :D (either that or those game should go multi... i'm cool with that too. that'd actually be better for me :P )

I guess the smarter alternative is to just dig yourself into a hole lower prices and assuring your doom, instead of keeping things the way they are and at least try to make money?

I wouldn't hold my breath for a $400 PS3 any time soon. :lol:

ether they lower the price of games or the console price,plain and simple,which doing one of those will make them money,not doing anything at all will make you no money.

i would also like a link. if you don't know the ps3 is 410 in japan cheaper than anywhere else and this was at launch. you may not be lying but it seems like one until i see the link.jessie5788

Is the premium charge the price of the system itself or are the devs asking for Sony to drop the price of the games? This might be a silly question to some but I've not heard the word premium used in relation to the PS3.Ibacai

This "Premium" could be the licensing fees that a developer has to pay Sony to develop for the PS3. At least that's what I got from reading the TC's first post.
