Really shocked to hear that, even with a small poll. How about you?

This has been posted a few times, BUT if it were really true, the Wii and PS3 wouldn't be "outselling" the 360 in Japan.
Outselling is a nice term.
I AM STARTING to think POLLS may not be accurate!

That's odd, thanks for the post.
I'm sorry, did anyone find the numbers for this poll?
Like how many they polled and what systems they owned?
19/20 people who own 360s in japan said they are very satisfied wile 1899/2000 of PS3 owners said they are very satisfied with the console. So by that we have determined that Japanese gamers are more satisfied with 360.
... sounds wrong to me :? (if that is, indeed, what they did)
It's a classic example of misleading conclusions based on inadequate poll data. Someone here had to have taken "Understanding Statistics" in Collage.

What the...anyone notice this post?
Satisfied does not mean the same thing as appealing to in terms of want. If the poll was appeal to non-owners, you could use sales. This is measuring owners satisfaction rates with the product they bought, which does not correlate with sales. This has been posted a few times, BUT if it were really true, the Wii and PS3 wouldn't be "outselling" the 360 in Japan.

A small group of Japanese folks like their Xbox 360's?!?!!?!?

Love the pic :) I'm just use to how polls can show a +/- of a certain % of how something as a whole would feel. That's probably not the case here, but interesting to me nonetheless.
Yep. I doubt the 360 will ever be big in Japan, so I wonder if Microsoft should just give it up.

Did the poll owners know that? Just kidding.
Interesting point, and I agree since you brought up the differences, I still am not a converted Poll Man though. :)

Polls are useful if they take a representative sample (this is the problem with most polls, especially online polls) of the population that they want to poll and if the question setup and analysis is unbiased, or as unbiased as possible.[QUOTE="MBP_King"]

Or just keep releasing JRPG every week, it might actually work. Not surprised. The 360 is giving Japan an RPG fix. By the end of this fall so will the Wii. The PS3..... not so much.

The demo for FF XIII is suppose to be coming out there very shortly, with the purchase of FF Advent children Blu-Ray movie. That should give them a *small* fix. ;)

Really?
Sony hardware tops Japanese charts for another weekJapanese hardware figures for the week ended March 15 confirm yet another solid turnover for Sony consoles, with both the PlayStation Portable and PlayStation 3 topping the charts for the second week running.
PSP took the number one spot with 43,463 units sold, followed by PS3 with 28,014 units. Though Sony's black box was almost pipped to the post by the DSi, it comfortably outsold the Wii, which shifted just over 17,000 units during the same period. Check out the full numbers below:
·PSP: 43,463
·PS3: 28,014
·DSi: 27,564
·Wii : 17,941
·DS Lite: 11,571
·360: 8,378

Like I said, sales are not relevant to satisfaction.Really? [QUOTE="PSU"] Sony hardware tops Japanese charts for another week

maybe because the few who bought one were either fanboys or were so hard to convince to buy one that when they bought it they only bought it because it had alot of games they wanted to play on it.
could be that it's just an awesome console though too

I think in Japan at least, the PS3 will experience a sales spike. How long and how many units it moves is up in the air, as other big titles failed to move big numbers. FF XII is a different beast though and if this one cant move a large number of units, nothing can.
if they are so satisfied they would at least reached 1 mil alreadyhost0211or maybe the two are not as related as you think?
if they are so satisfied they would at least reached 1 mil alreadyhost0211Again, not related at all to sales. Why is this so hard to understand?

Dragon quest could, as far as i know Dragon quest is more popular then Final Fantasy theredunno, i never played a DQ game, i know that DQ 9 will be a Wii exclusive thoughReally? Is that available in the States or Europe? I would like to try it!

The poll is accurate and makes sense. In NA there's more Wiis and 360s sold but maybe in a poll more people are satisfied with the PS3 and all its features. In Japan, the 360 seem to have the most games that Japanese like, so that's probably why more Japanese GAMERS are satisfied.
Not surprised at all. Theres lots of ppl getting the PS3 just because its a playstation console. As sony claimed it should have more games, the best graphics and the support from all devs....of course they get disapointed. On the other hand 360 doenst has nothing to prove. Most dont even know what a xbox is (at least on my country) and get a good surprise when figure its incredible lineup....

You can tell that Square Enix's reason to put Dragon Quest X on the Wii is more about business then anything else, and a good decision at that. I'm pretty sure you'll see a great team backing it up as well. I really want to see how well Square Enix does this Fall with Final Fantasy XIII in Japan. Will it be a short or long time boost for hardware sales?
Ok now if this is true, why is it that the 360 has only just broke the 1 million sales milestone?
Something isnt right...
Poll data is insignificant:

It makes sense, if you think about it.
Statistically, an average japanese gamer won't choose to buy an Xbox 360. That could mean that those who do buy them are less mainstream gamers, and as such are more knowledgeable about the product that they bought.
Consequentially, if they have more information about the console, they know what to expect from it, and as such are - in general - more satisfied than those that bought the product blindly.

To MBP_King, if you're looking for the best DQ currently available check out Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King on PS2. It's a terrific game.

"Famitsu also polled users about which games they were most satisfied with. The game that scored the highest satisfaction is PS3 title Demon's Souls. Coming in second place is another PS3 title Ryu Ga Gotoku 3 (aka Yakuza 3). Following behind that PS3 exclusive is multi-platform title Street Fighter IV and Xbox 360 title Star Ocean 4."
what does this mean??? :)

I'm not saying that's what they did but it is possible they could have done something similar considering the install base in Japan.
