wow poor 360. 360 sells there like PS3 sells here.carl2tanthe ps3 isn't being outsold 7:1 by the 360 here in the U.S....nice try
What the heck? if this goes on for a few more weeks I'm sure we will be seeing the DS slim show up for the rescue.laughingman42
I thought that's what the DS Lite was? I'm not paying attention to the DS so I don't know.
Wow....where are the PSP naysayers. Not that it is gonna beat the DS ever, but in no way is it a bad system or a flop/failure.MikeE21286
It isn't a bad system, but if you go by hype it is a flop. It was suposed to be the nintendo killer in the handheld market.

No, I think Japanese people just don't like American products...at least a documentary I watched concerning this subject somewhat implied that.[QUOTE="MikeE21286"]Wow....where are the PSP naysayers. regardless, the PSP is a gr8 system. One which I thoroughly enjoy to say the least.[QUOTE="laughingman42"]What the heck? if this goes on for a few more weeks I'm sure we will be seeing the DS slim show up for the rescue.skyline_racer1

Well at this point it is still a rumor. Nintendo has suposedly finished work on yet another redesign of the DS. It is super slim, has no gameboy BC because the slot would make it to fat, and the screens are bigger.

You can look at it either way......There was "public hype" and then there was the real "hype" or Corporate (i.e. Sony's) expectations. Do we think that Sony belives it succeeded? I'd have to say absolutely yes.

no it's only about a fifth of the population, but it's only 4 million away from beating the PS2 in Japan.
wow poor 360. 360 sells there like PS3 sells here.carl2tan
Ummm PS3 is like 6X X360 in JPN
360 is less than 2X PS3 in NA
Which isn't nearly as close as you made it seem

Gee, I wonder what game was released for the PSP that caused this? Only reason I could think of for the DS selling less is that Japan is running out of people who dont own a DS yet. :P
But seriously, any PSP killer-apps released in Japan this week?

He probably just made it up just like everyone else does who claims to see something similiar.
I post in Japanese forums and they always buy foreign products. Hell when I asked them the question they just laughed at me and said that was ridiculous. Foreign products sell perfectly fine in Japan just look at Pepsi, Levi Jeans, Mcdonalds, Dells, are just some that come to mind. Let's not also forget how popular American movies and music are there. It goes far and well beyond the IPOD. Sure foreign electronics don't sell well but that's because Japan is the electronic capital of the world. It's like saying why aren't there any foreign films doing well in the American box-office. It's all common sense really. This explains why you only see people compare electronics in this whole Japan bias debate but they never ever do anything else, because in reality they sell fine.
It's just some stupid made up conspiracy some Xbox fanboys started and people in forums are actually narrow minded enough to believe.
This is the reason why the 360 doesn't sell in Japan.
That's just the tip of the iceberg the 360 is localized just horribly in Japan (for example they didn't change the name Xbox because unlike the West were X=Badass in Japan X=Bad as in Unreliable or Do not Do).
I mean if Japan didn't buy anything or accept anything Western then why would they be making videogames in the first place?
I guess the Japanese aren't very open minded when it comes to gaming.

You do realize there are hardly any Western publishers in Japan correct?
With numbers like those the psp will beat the DS in no time :|Simple 2000: The Hardware Chart

Westerners on this forum needs to stop the ignorant generalizations of the Japanese and their consumer habits. Most never been to Japan and are ill-informed about its culture and how the video game market works there. Claiming that the Japanese are not open-minded is hypocritical knowing that many here, mostly Westerners, do the same thing on System Wars.
wow poor 360. 360 sells there like PS3 sells here.carl2tan
Not really... because the PS3 actually hit the million mark here in America,360 on the other hand hasn't.
Edit* I mean it hasn't hit the million mark in Japan for those who looked at the sentence and thought "wtf?"

Not really. Around here the PS3 doesn't get outsold 7-1 by the nearest competitor.

Sony were the ones that said "We're going to put the final nail in Nintendo's coffin". So it's a flop by their standards as well.
