"Respawn Entertainment marks a fresh start for Jason and me," Zampella said in a statement. "For the past decade we led a great development team and poured our hearts into creating an epic game franchise. We're very proud of what we built – and proud that so many millions of fans enjoyed those games. Today we hope to do it all over again — open a new studio, hire a great team, and create brand new games with a new partner, EA."

"We're excited," West said. "Now that the team is in control of the games and brands, we can ensure that the fans are treated as well as they deserve."

Pretty ironic that IW was created because of layoffs by EA and now they are back into EA.

So are we going to have three "modern warfare" esque franchises from EA now? :|

Should be interesting to see if they do create another FPS in that vein.

Back when this all I started, I said I thought they would go back with EA. Good move, if you ask me. EA has been pretty darn good the past few years, in my opinion.

this is way too eerily similar to when the Guitar Hero guys left Activision and joined EA partners to create Harmonix

(btw EA partners means you retain all IP ownership and total control over your studio, EA simply funds the studio and publishes, but can't do anything if you want to leave to join a different publisher)

either way, Call of Duty is the new Guitar Hero, soon to be oversaturated and turned into crap, while the new studio comes up with something gamers appreciate

EA have been pretty damn good lately. I am glad they received the distribution and publishing rights.

There isn't much reason to believe otherwise given Activision's history.Zero_epyon

Not that there's much reason to believe what these guys say considering how they left.

They seem like decent guys who are enthusiastic about gaming in general, if COD 4 and MW 2 is any indication, these guys can head a good project.

I'm not suprised at all. Hopefully they come up with a new game that rivals the quality and gains the popularity of modern warfare.:)

Maybe they'll do something original and stop diluting the genre. But I doubt it.

With Bodycount, Battlfield and Medal of Honor I think having MW as well (if West/Zampella win the suit) might be overkill.

Considering how bad MW2 was I saw good riddence. If World At War is any indication Call of Duty is better off with Treyarch in charge.

I knew this would happen. Wasn't IW comprised of ex-Medal of Honor guys from EA who left because of their publishers oppression :?? Were West & Zampella apart of that band? --- Anyways, this cool news and I'm glad they'll have creative freedom.
