Probably a 9.0. The review looks fair and well weighted and he gives a lot of credit to it and gives a lot of objective points.

Well... Its a fun game, has a lot of content... but its not perfect. So I dont mind. Not like 4/5 is a bad score.Darthmatt

He's never been a fan of the Wii so I'm not surprised. For him Smash needs more chainsaws and space marines for it to be 5/5M3tro1d

4/5 is at best 85-90%

Knowing jeff he would give it a 9.0. I don't think he would want ALL of gamespot hating him.

That's true unless they use half stars, which I doubt. But yeah, he would probably have given it a 9.0, but if he'd given it 8-8.5 I wouldn't care because it's a fair score, despite it being the best Wii game I've played thus far.

5/5 isnt really perfect either. 5 scale is totally different. 5/5 is basically AAA even though on gr itd be 100%. you just have to use common sense. 1 terrible. 2 seriously flawed 3 good game 4 great game 5 is AAA and up

I'm not a big fan of placing measurable value on reviews to begin with, but I especially hate strict 1-5 scales. In the grand scheme of things, there's just too much distance between each number to give a more precise score.OldSkoolGamer04

1-5 scales are the only reviews worth reading. 1-100 scales only exist so fanboys can argue about games - "X game got a 8.9 but Y game got a 8.8 so game X must be better" - 0.1 means nothing. The whole point of the rating is to give you a rough idea of how good the game is - and then you can read the review to see if you would like it.

At the end of the day everyone has a diferent opinion on every game, and having a 1-100 scale leaves too much up to personal opinion. A 1-5 scale can tell you if its a good game or a bad game - which nearly all people would agree on , and the review content will tell you if you will like it.

No game Truly Deserves a 5/5... That would be implying that the game has ZERO problems and nothing could have been done better (ONLINE COULD HAVE BEEN DONE A LOT BETTER FOR BRAWL)... Which I think is never possible because there is always room for improvement...

Am I the only one who thinks the graphics are fine and pleasing to the eyes? Seriouslly is cutting edge graphics even needed for the type of art style Brawl is suppose to be? And this is coming from a person who plays games like Crysis..

As true as that is, usually 5 out of 5 stars doesn't mean something is perfect. Regardless, he gave both Prof Layton and Burnout a 5/5. If i remember correctly.

Not that i'm complaining about his score for it. I haven't read the review yet.

His scalings are meant to make the reviewer READ the reviews. You guys probably never read the views, and end up making illoical statements about a lowscoringgame. He wants his customers to have their own opinion on the game. the 1-5 scale is to give you the idea if the game is Bad,Below avg., Avg., Great, and Fantastic. It's up to you to plaY it, and come to your own personal conclusion about the game. And in all honestly, Biases set aside, SSBB was infact an AA title. It got what it deserved.
