Jonathon Blow The Witness Uses 5GB RAM, Calls Xbox One DDR3 RAM Cheap

"The Witness which was announced at the PS4 reveal conference supposedly wants 5GB RAM, according to creator Jonathon Blow."

"In a series of tweets, he explains why that is so and also calls the DDR3 RAM inside Xbox One something that could be acquired for really cheap. He also wonders why Microsoft went with only 8GB when they could have afforded much more."

I'm sorry, I'm no video game developer, but open world games like Skyrim and GTA 4, and graphical powerhouses like Crysis 3 don't even need 5GB. He could obviously cut it down, he just has no reason to. Which is fine, but he shouldn't act like the game would be impossible with less RAM.tagyhag

And from what we've seen of the Witness, the textures are definitely nothing special.

Can assume they won't be compressed real bad which is only good news. Obviously the others including rage would look better with less compression too.killzowned24
