So I made a program for my stats class, altered it for this cause- according to gamerankings, the standard deviation between X360 games and Ps3 games on gamerankings is 1.3 points in favor of the ps3. This is only is cases where the versions are the same, I hand excluded things like bayonetta, etc.

So yea, this invalidates all of your taking gamerankings seriously stuff.

You have over 10 times his number of posts. Maybe you should consider the fact that he just did you a favor and came up with some objective data instead of the usual fanboy drivel and ***t flinging we see on this forum.

Yeah I have also been here since 2005; he's been here for less than a week. And he didn't do me a favour as I couldn't give a **** about that kind of data

Did you take into account the amount of reviews per game? Cause many multiplats have way more 20+ reviews for the 360 version that the PS3 version? If not than your data is worthless.

Don't you love how he left out any games better on 360 to help the PS3's score? lol

To be fair I had to pick something to do for my Stats coursework a few years ago and I did Gamespot scores for Gamecube, PS2 and Xbox games. But TC it's unfair to take out the outliers, the whole point of using a Standard Deviation is that it takes care of those. If you were using something like a median or a mean you'd have to take out those games. The main thing with this kind of data is if you actually look at most of the PS3 and 360 reviews of the same game, most PS3 games have less reviews, or have higher proportion of reviews by PS3 only game sites. That's why the PS3 version of GTA4 was higher for quite a while (maybe it still is)

If i understand your post correctly, you are saying that the same games, with the same scores, usually have a 1.3 point in favor of the PS3 version? In which case that would be explained by the 360 version often having MORE reviews than the PS3 version. More sites reviewing = lower average

You shouldn't be excluding the multiplats, even if they are different.

Well it was to challenge the idea of the 360 not having a AAA above 94, when the ps3's highest on the site is only a point or so higher. So tell that to them. My point is that using gamerankings score in a manner to compare such close numbers on different platforms is absurd.
