So anyway I just bought Age of Conan, and it'll be my first Mumorpuger ever. Tried WoW via trial, played it around five days... disliked it.

I live in Croatia and droppet 350 kunas for it. 1 USD is 4,59 kunas, so you do the math. Guess we'll adopt Euros soon... Console games are 550 kunas. Wanted to buy a PS3 (which is fairly cheap), GTA 4 on a shelf caught my eye, but as soon I saw its price, I decided I'll stick with PC for a while... Altough, this is for a different topic...

Anyway, I'm just installing it. Heard from several friends that the game is really something, unique etc.

Anyone playing it here? Did I just selfowned myself by buying it?

Thanks guys. It seems then that this game actually is good. Great news :)

I'm hearing that there's about 20 hours of singleplayer, or something. Is that true? Do you really must play through the SP part?

No, not at all. You can group up with a party in the beginning levels also although the singleplayer is pretty engaging.

I'm playing on Fury PvP. But if this is your first MMORPG, you should go with a PvE server.

Go with PvP server. Trust me you will regret if you don't. In addition, choose server with a good population.

This game is by far the most detailed MMO I have ever played.

This is truly the definition of a good RPG. If you don't like the slightly realistic and mature setting, I would not recommend the game. Otherwise, buy it.

W.A.R is going is probably going to be a great game also, but I myself am sick of the fantasy setting we've been in for so long.

Been playing it for a hour or so, and so far i liked it. It needs more work on the interface, but in general it's a pretty solid mumorpurger.

Besides that, Age of Conan is apparently a fastest selling PC game evar.

It'll be interesting to see will it be able to keep the pace in the following months.

Age of Conan = endless gameplay. NG2 = $10 more for way less gameplay.

True, true, not to mention, NG2 can always be rented, where AOC cannot.

Um, AoC = endless, life-sucking gameplay for 15 USD per month. It also depends on how good the end-game is. NG2 = $10 extra initially, but no more fees after that.

Because everything that has a beginning has an end. Also, not sure how good the end-game in AoC will be, though I have faith in Funcom. Still, the fundamentals of combat (i.e the change from the dice roll) make it comparable to Ninja Gaiden. So when I finish the main storyline for AoC, what will keep me there should be the community and how fun the game is at its foundations, as it can't sugar-coat itself in context anymore. Thus, if I had the option to 'mindleslly' play around in AoC or NG II, I'd pick the latter. I mean, with that logic, isn't Second Life the best "game" ever? You get out as much as you put in, at a base level it's free, and you get even more freedom than most other MMOs? Well, I hope Funcom hurries up anyway. I need my Dreamfall: Chapters. I also hope the MMO they make will not be a RPG. I want a MMO Adventure game.

Yeah, that's what I was going to say. Just rent NG2 and if you really feel like getting into a MMO buy AOC.

I'm gonna be picking this up tomorrow instead of getting Mass Effect for PC. I'd never expect to hear such acclaim from this game so I have to know what all the fuss is about.

Yeah, been playing it for several hours today and it kinda grows on me. Game seems to be really HUGE. I mean, it comes on two DVDs, and takes 25 gigabytes on your HDD. It says that it's reccomended to have 32 GB free on your HDD.

Graphics are beautiful, if you have a proper rig, that is. I'm playing it on high at 1680x1050, 16x AF, AA turned off, most of the advanced features on etc.

Not the best PC out there, but it does the job pretty well. Athlon 64 x2 3800+, 2 gigs of DDR1 RAM, 8800 GTX. If you exclude a graphics board, everything else is about three years old. Getting around 30 frames.

I can run LOTRO with everything turned up, max res, no AA, and DX10 effects on and get about 45 FPS...I also did system requirements lab and I am passed the recommended specs (AOC) so Im hoping it will run good on my system.

Oh, right, I forgot to mention that I'm running Vista. DX10 effects also on, but I guess they mean squat 'cause DX10 patch with proper DX10 features is coming at the end of this year.
