If anyone here prefers PS3 but ends up buying all multi-plats for 360 because thats what most of their friends have...? Or vice versa per say... It sucks as it would be nice to build that collection for my ps3 but being like the only person i know who owns one makes for lonely gaming lol... So ya just curious to see if others are in the same boat as me :)

I buy multiplats for my 360 mainly because:

-It looks better on 360

-Most of my friends have that game on their 360

So basically if i bought the game (say mw2) for my ps3, i wouldnt be able to play with most of my friends

I don't yet have a ps3 but i am getting one for christmas but i'm probably going to get my multiplats on 360 because of my gamerscore which is already 18,500 and i want to keep getting that up and most of my friends have 360. Only problem is i have a feeling my xbox will break if it gets the majority of my gaming time.

My brother and I always get multiplats on PS3.

1) We both have PS3's so we can share it, while he only has a 360.
2) We don't pay for Xbox Live anymore.
3) Even if we only had one PS3, and did pay for Xbox Live, we would get them for PS3, because we both like our PS3's more than our 360.

I agree that Quality >>>> Quantity. Expesially when it comes to friends. I have a small number of close friends, about 3-4.

Somewhat. I have a PS3 and a 360, but I usually buy multi-plats depending on if they have any technical problems, better graphics, and so on. Usually my friends have nothing to do with it since I hardly keep in contact with them anymore anyways.

Nope, friends are a non factor when I buy multiplats. Unless there's exclusive content (Batman) in the PS3 version of a multiplat, I buy all multiplats on 360. PS3 is an exclusives only console ever since I bought a 360.

Occasionally. I bought Borderlands and Left 4 Dead 2 on 360 over the PC version simply because the friends I most wanted to play them with were getting the 360 version of each game. But if its non-co-op I usually don't care. I'll get whatever version I want. I don't mind missing out competitive multiplayer with friends on some titles.

Well friends is one factor but there is some more important factors for choosing your multiplat game:

1- Console reliability. (I went through 4 RRoDs so after that I decided to keep my 360 for exclusives only)

2- Which console got the better version. (Usually I dont care about this since the difference is usually negligible)

3- I buy games which got online MP on the console which I got more friends on. (PS3 for me)

So no.

Yandere

imagine that as Sony's marketing campaign.

If you have little to no friends.

You don't have the skill to take on multiplayers

and prefer to watch movies then play games .....the PS3 is for you!

Just kiddding, but seriously I can see why having most of your frineds having the consle version of the game you want to play could heavily sway you.

As for me it's actually that Iuse the PS3 more as a multimedia device then a games machine(Whichit is extremely excellent at doing!!!)that makes me choose to get the Xbox360 version instead along with all the other things like friends, grahics, dlc, live etc....

Almost never do my friends or friendslist influence me. It's my money, I am a lone wolf for the most part. If I do set something up for the future, say RE5 or Army of Two, a Co-Op experience with them, then that's another thing. As far as just following blindly, buying without setting up an engagement date, or something...no, I don't do that. No way. I set the trends in my life, always have, always will.

I was my own clique in High School, that by 2nd year, people were behind me, not the other way around. I've always been a leader type, I was groomed that way since I was a kid.

I do know that the vast majority of people on the planet are not like me at all as far as Bandwagon hopping, and most folks do in fact go with the crowd, so I understand. I've been to Walmart.

Sometimes..but it's not like they make me buy a game on whatever console. I have a couple of close friends I enjoy MP games with, if I feel like playing with them, I'll buy the game on the same console they bought it on. They all bought MW2 and are enjoying MP together, but I didn't feel like buying the game, so I didn't.

Yeah I got borderlands on the PS3 because I had way more friends that wanted to play together instead of the PC version. Same with COD4. And pretty much any non PC exclusive title for the most part.

I have more friends that game on consoles than PC and the online pc ones are mostly just old CS buddies.

any multiplat that has multiplayer i buy it on the 360. if its only a singleplayer most of the time on ps3. i only have one rl friend on ps3 and about 10 on 360. so friends does have some influence on it. however not to be mistaken, they dont influence on what game i should buy, only what console to buy it on.
