Just finished Mass Effect

One of the best games I've ever played. Maybe the best, its in a bout with re4 right now in my mind but wow is all i have to say. The story is THE most cinematicly told in a video game ever. Plenty of great plot twists, plenty of real choices that seriously effect the game. And the gameplay is actually awesome.

I came in weary on if the combat would suffice but it turned out being some of the most fun combat gameplay I've ever experienced. This comes to mind when thinking about the assault on the base on virmire.

And when it comes to technical flaws yes there were framerate drops but it didnt take away from the game really at all. The only glitch I ever had happen was falling through an elevator. This title truly deserves a lot higher than an 8.5 but I can see how gs new rating system dealt harshly with this game over a few tech problems. Oh well. This game sits in my top two all time ever played.

Mass Effect is flawed in lots of ways...and although i would have rathered it stayed in development for another year and wed get the game we were shown in X06...

Mass Effect was and is amazing, it really puts you into the space opera setting, and its just a blast, never gets boring...

one of the best games ive ever played this year, and def in my top 20 of all time

Gs reviews are a joke now and anyone that has been here a while I think would agree. Me deserved a 9.5 Halo 3 8.5 . The tech issues everyone cried about never bothered me or I was so envolved in the game I didnt notice them.

Thats too late man you should really get it soon, playing through this game at least once should be any gamers top priority. It's that good. I havent played a game this amazing with such a sense of awe since RE4

mass effect has just won my best RPG award and im still not done with the game. the game does have its framerate issues,but it's still an RPG fan's dream come true.lawlessx

The amazing thing is I don't even like rpgs at all yet this game came through for me. It's a game for any fan of action games. Honestly the only rpgs I've played and beaten through are ff7 ff8 and oblivion. Mass Effect utterly obliterates all of them in every way possible.

I was thinking the same thing yet didnt want to sound harsh. Its appalling though that people would miss this amazing game for a pretty average one. If he waits too long he's going to be the guy that experiences it last and is blown away by it and goes to talk about it with others but they've all moved on :lol:

Did you do the virmire mission yet? It might be the best mission/level/part of a game I've ever experienced and I've played plenty of shooters. IMO the last 2 or 3 hours of this game topples gears of war as a shooter alone yet its an rpg.

By the end you'll be completely blown a way such an amazing was ever made. lol honestly though

Love the game, albeit lots of little issues I have ranging from laziness in development to technical flaws

Definitly my RPGOTY choice, and in my top list of RPG titles.
