This console is still kinda current, has an awesome library of games in my view. I was a bit hesitant as I’ve only been a handheld player for the past 10 years or so.
But my God, I’m impressed. Glory to the players!!

@hardwenzen: it’s the natural order of progression. Lol ;)
@xantufrog: it’s like culture shock, but in a very good way. Not a bad investment. I’m just glad I wasn’t disappointed. The last consoles I played non handheld were ps2 and n64 before that.
@girlusocrazy: oh I probably will. There’s a lot of catching up to do.
A lot. I want to get some more titles that I would enjoy.
Nice, I still have my 360 in the bedroom, plays alot of the OG Xbox games too. I think I got THPS 4 in it right now, I still snag games for it when I find them cheap, got a copy of mercenaries, brutal legend, shadows of the damned, and burnout 3 recently to play on it
I need a 360 again, so I can check out this HD-DVD attachment thing I bought years ago at a retro shop.
It's great TC. I kinda envy you for the stuff you're gonna experience for the first time...
You should have grabbed a series s, or a cheap xbox one. Both are backward compatible with most of the 360 library. X360 is a great system though, enjoy.
Nice. Yeah there’s a lot of great games to enjoy on that system and the good thing is that a lot of those will carry forward to subsequent Xbox systems whenever you get around to getting those.
@Archangel3371: oh true, never really thought about it that way, but I guess it would be compatible with some sort of transfer??
@Jendeh: it’s alright bro. I’m a retro gamer. And the 360 is a retro console in many ways, and I understand that too. It doesn’t sound ridiculous to me.
@Ithrewupfire: you know what?? It is upside down lol!!!! I’ll fix it.
Yeah RROD would be devastating for sure. Say is the hdd interchangeable with another 360 should I get a RROD??

Some recommendations:
Red Dead Redemption
Tomb Raider Legend
Tomb Raider Underworld
Halo 3
Halo Reach
Catherine
Halo Anniversary CE (best version btw)
Silent Hill 2 and 3 Remaster
Silent Hill Downpour
Silent Hill Homecoming
Spiderman Web of Shadows
Gears of War trilogy
GTA IV
Darksiders
Resident Evil 6
Resident Evil Operation Raccoon City
Mass Effect Trilogy
Saints Row 2 and 4
Sonic Anniversary
Yeah, the 360 was basically my favorite part of that gen, aside from the PS Vita.

Came here to say this. At least the Xbox One X is still relevant to this day, it even can rival Xbox Series S which both of those consoles can play Xbox 360 games anyway with better framerate/visuals.
Not knocking on the Xbox 360, it was MS best console they ever put out and giving PS3 a run for its money during the early days. Playing Xbox 360 today's standard is pretty rough IMO. I'm more surprised MS hasn't cut the cord on XBL for 360 alone.
Nevertheless, congrats TC.
@SecretPolice:
The og 360 crapped out on me long ago and I ended getting a slim. So I don't know if I'd want another one. lol
@nepu7supastar7:
Yeah, I was a lucky one I guess. I did end up getting the 360S as a second console for another room so I actually have 2 360's, one OG X1 that just recently failed me, I'm told it likely failed because of an auto update that bricked systems. I also now have two X1X's one an original Scorpio version thanks to my pal Pedro but still XSX'less damit. lol :P
@girlusocrazy:
Look at what just popped up, timing is everything. lol :P

Oh man that sucks. :(
I'll tell you something, that original 360 I talked about earlier did have a problem. I was playing a game then suddenly everything turned lime green, I checked everything, connections and such but nothing helped so I called MS to see if they could help and stupidly on my part I kept telling them it wasn't RRoD and it turned out to be a cpu issue, they fixed it and charged me $90.00. If I had just gone along with the MS rep and said yeah, yeah, it's RRoD, they would have sent me a new or refurbished 360 for free. lol :P

I got a second hand Xbox 360E. I think the guy who had it before smoked, because the fan crapped out. Opened it and replaced the fan and the thermal paste with MX4. Great console. Still doesn't feel out of date in the way that 6th gen consoles do. I still frequently play Xbox 360 games.
Make sure you explore the Xbox Live Arcade Games. So many gems. Definitely check out Radiant Silvergun HD, Rez HD and Castlevania: Sympony of the Night, to name a few.

xbox 360 actually beat out ps3. Sony only caught up at the very end of the generation. Even then, the only reason sony even caught up was because japan. They bought 10 million ps3 consoles, and only 1.5 million of xbox 360.
Also, I re purchased a used xbox 360 for my bro recently. He really enjoyed the budokai series, and sadly its not one of the back compatible games on the list. I think theres some licensing issues going on, which sucks. I thought I wouldn't like playing old xbox 360 games, but I was wrong. I'm really enjoying orcs must die and even played a mario kart rip off, which people still play online. I tried deadspace recently also, and it looks great considering the xbox 360 hardware.

There's some excellent games that aren't compatible but maybe the owner does not care. I would miss all the shmups and Outrun/Sega Rally/Afterburner Climax and others. Xbox has a shmup deficit now that I hope gets remedied.
yes I found that the hard way. It seems like some games aren't back compatible due to licensing issues. Budokai is one of those games, and i'm guessing the games you mentioned are the same. There are a few shmups on gamepass. One of them I downloaded is metal slug 3.
