What if Crysis 2 does not meet the hype? Gears 1 -> Gears 2 CoD4 -> MW2 (Modern Warfare, not counting WW2 ones) Bioshock -> Bioshock 2 I mean, those games failed to meet the hype. Whether its ratings or actual gameplay. What if Crysis 2 does not meet expectations?
Crysis never did meet the hype. There just arent enough people who have played it to hate on it. All graphics no gameplay. Thats why the call it a sandbox game.

Uhh, no. Not really. It is very difficult to one-up an initial appearance, unless it is a game like Killzone where the first one was bad...so that is hard to loose to.
All those games, except perhaps Bioshock 2, met the hype score wise. I thought Gears 2 was on par, if not better in the campaign department. I enjoyed MW2 as much as the first, if not more so because I was more involved in the multiplayer this time around. I didn't like Bioshock 2 though. I have a feeling we are going to see another Assassins Creed 2 pulled off. The first had amazing graphics & physics, but there was criticism with the story among a few other things. Now they have some respected Sci-Fi writer (the one that runs his mouth a fair bit) & it's shaping up pretty well.
Crysis 1 one of the most heavily modded games out there. It changed the game for the better (not that it was bad) I am sure IF crysis 2 fails to meet expectations it can be modded to be something more
