Just like 3d-Dot Heroes, I think Crackdown 2 is under rated on this site...

3D dot Heroes got a 7.5, and this was arguably one of my favorite games this year. I played the heck out of it and enjoyed every bit of it. EAsily an 8.5 in my books.

I feel that a lot of new features in the new Crackdown are over looked.

Anyone else feel this way?

I doubt it, the demo is really brutal so I assume the full length game is not vastly better

Going by the metric , a 73 is a good score for this games its a blast to play but it hasn't done anything new with the series .

Actually having 3D Dot Heroes, it's a pretty damn good game. Crackdown 2 however is just Crackdown 1 with a dlc patch. Heard they made a few things much worse as well.

Crackdown 2 has gotten a wide range of reviews, with some of the really low ones completely unwarranted. The game is not broke, far from it actually. The core mechanics are fine and I havent noticed any gamebreaking flaws. There are harsh sites like Eurogamer and Edge that both gave it an 8. So if your on the fence, at least rent it. Personally, I like the art style, the progression system, and mowing down freaks with a car 8)

The thing is the goal wasint to evolve gameplay,but give you the old school gameplay feel and a funny world. The game knows what it is and is proud of it. Its not trying to say "hey im orignal and thought of all of this my self" like some other games do. Its not suppose to be taken uber serious.

I like 3D Dot Heroes (Gave it an 8.5), but it is no Zelda. The dungeons design is less creative and the puzzles are more generic.

It has a spectacular overworld though.

Also, a clone can never be an equal if it doesn't improve on its inspiration. A clone has "borrowed greatness" which means that its greatness is less than that of the original.

And I'm fine with that. 3D Dot Heroes is a delightful game and I don't really expect it to evolve on the Zelda formula. I just don't want to hear people going on about how it's Zelda's "equal" cause that's BS.

FlamesofGrey means that since the gameplay of 3d dot is so similar to Zelda, it's hard for it to become noticed and appreciated, when Zelda does it so much better. Also, if a shooter played "decent enough" and yet ANOTHER shooter played 1000 times better, would you pick the crap one? Didn't think so. Games don't need pity points for trying.

I ment equal in terms of gameplay not quality. Zelda isn't that hard of game to copy. It's just a lot developers haven't even bothered. To finally see a developer create something similer to Zelda on PS3 only for it to get slammed to pieces by rabid nintendo fanboys and for that reason it wont sell well not because it's a bad game. It's a decent game, 15 hours of content. Can't go wrong.
