just played gears 2, resistance 2, LBP, mirrors edge, farcry 2, thoughts!

ok so i just played a bunch of unreleased games at best buys gaming invasion.

the game i had the most pure unadulterated fun with was LBP, its an awesome game as most of you know.

gears 2 horde mode was awesome in every sense of the word, extremely well put together, and the graphics are better than gears 1. umm gears...only real glaring difference between it and its predecessor is that you run alot slower (aside from all the new weapons, and such) cover works much better.

resistance 2, was basically the same as the first, not necessarily a bad thing...but i found it pretty much the same...(only played for about 15 minutes, campaign)

mirrors edge was.......fun...but i didnt play enough to get a sense of the full game.....its pretty much just run-jump run-jump punch repeat. looked great! (played on PS3)

farcry 2 was the most dissapointing game there.....the visuals were horrid. frame rate dropped consistantly, and there were a bunch of bugs...not sure if this was the final build....but it was almost broken. (played on xbox 360)

motorstorm 2 was really fun. thats all there is to say really. race, crash laugh.

any questions? keeping in mind i played each of these for only 15-20 minutes.

You walk even slower in Gears 2? Seriously? Oh and is the pace of Resistance 2 the same as the 1st one? It looked a bit slower than the 1st in gameplay vids.ONLYDOD

well i didnt think the console version of far cry 2 would hold up too well against the pc version anyway. so not suprised if its true what you say TC.

although the devs stated the ps3 version will have better AA. also no game is ever exactly the same. there is always minor very small slight differences between multiplats. nothing noticeable at most

are you sure its not the other way around???......The 360 pretty much gets free 2x or 4x AA I can't remember what it was and thats why it has better AA on some games than the ps3

Very nice. Might pick it up after getting Dead Space.

Here is my review of the game..

Once you hit the start game button your gonna get to choose between 5 or 6 different characters which all have the same story i think but minor changes , the game starts off really beautiful as you sit at the back of a jeep and a guy escorting you to some place as you sit and see the really beautiful and realistic scenery , mountains , trees , animals.etc really really beautiful.

Your are caught between two rival factions in war-torn africa , you are sent to take out " The Jackal " , a mysterious character who has rekinded the conflict between the warlords , jeopardizing thousands of lives.In order to fulfil your mission you will have to play the factions against each other , identify and exploit their weaknesses , and neutralise their superior numbers and firepower with suprise , subversion , cunning and , of course , brute force.

There are many weapons and of course you could take from your enemies....although the realistic side is that the weapons wore off/break or jam so you gotta to visit the gunshop to fix or buy new weapons. There are also these briefcases you collect which has a diamond in it to also gain you more money , the game world is huge although fallout 3 is bigger of course....but its pretty big for an FPS and its free-roam. from what i have played i'll give it an 8.5. havn't tried the multiplayer yet...but it seems great because of the map editor , will try it and give answers about to those who want answers.
