Just played Halo 3.

I went to BigBadButters house after school today with the promise of being with him when he bought skate. for his ps3, and his brother bought Halo 3 After waiting for his brother to get home from complications at Wal-Mart, we started up the game, and tested if it was worth the 9.8/9.5 it was labeled by the 2 reviews we saw. We played online with guests, and immediatly noticed that the controls were different, and got very annoyed pressing B triggers for commands that Halo 2 used X for. We we're very annoyed our first couple of games cause it was so hard to break the habit from Halo 2.

Then we started getting used to the controls, and it got less annoying, but we found the game to be terrible and I was about to suggest turning it off to go play skate. when we were given our first VIP match. Suddenly the game got a whole lot better. VIP is a match where you are paired in a 2-person team against 3 other teams. 1 person in your group is the VIP, and it is the goal of the other team to kill your VIP. We were amazing at it, and played a couple of rounds.Then we got an 8-player, 4-team slayer match. This alone justified my staying at his house til 10 playing mindless shooting games. By this time it had become second nature to use the 360 controls instead of X-Box controls, and we were running through smoothly getting headshots and blowing stuff up. BigBadButters himself got an incredible no-scope headshot picking someone out of the air, which we had fun watching in the video we made afterwards. We started owning, and getting owned, and played this one incredible match that alone justifies the game in my eyes.

From what I played...

Was it worth the 9.8 given from GT? Absolutely not.

Was it worth the 9.5 given to it by GS? No.

It was deserving, however, of a SOLID 9.0, once you're used to the controls, and you play a lag free match. I think this should be a title owned by absolutely everyone with a 360. If you don't have it, you don't deserve the system.

Halo 3 is, based on what I have played thus far, not only the best Halo yet, but also one of the best FPS's ever made.

If the game keeps up its current quality all the way through, I have little doubt that I will regard it as the single best FPS of all time.

That is how damn good it is.

It also has the most content of any game I have ever played.

I absolutely believe that it deserves its score; it makes Halo 1 and 2 seem like trash.

I, for one, have played a great many games, and Halo is easily one of the best series I have ever played.

Why people think that if you adore Halo you are a noob is beyond me.

The Halo series is excellent, and ranks right up there with the best PC FPS's of all time.

so you can decide this without playing campaign, forge, or using the saved films? wow, im impressed...

No kidding huh? I been playing games for almost 25 years. Halo 3 wont surprise me at all...nothin will as i seen so much over the years. I maybe played two or three games that deserved tens EVER.

ok i sorry i was a jerk im just in a bad mood because i only played halo 3 for one hour because i have to "study" and get "good grades." pfft. down with school, up with halo!

they use itas a gimmick and call it equipment lol. any other game would just have you change with the d-pad.

I've been playing Call of Duty beta for the past weeks and haven't touched Halo 2 in a couple weeks. Well, first thing I do when I start the game with my brother is throw a grenade at all the troops in front of me. I think it deserved the spot that it did of course I have not got very far into the campaign yet.

I've played now for about 8 hours total mixed XBL and single player. It deserves the praise it gets and the firefights are totally awesome. I definitely think that single player should be played on Heroic. Anything less just doesn't do the game justice and it loses it's tactical qualities. On Heroric you will get gunned down like a dog if you don't use cover and play at least with some tactical skill. I'm still figuring out all the weapons and there is quite a bit of variety. XBL was great but I should say i was too impatient to wait for a cooperative game or I didn't have it figured out. I jumped into the multiplayer and was impressed by their basic training idea and how they do the matchmaking. I'm still so low on experience I don't know how it will end up but it definitely is a cool system from what I've seen of it. So far I must say the people on XBL have been very cool as well. The fact nearly everyone has a microphone is awesome and after playing World In Conflict like a freaking crack addict for the past week I couldn't help but once again be impressed by XBL and what it does for online gaming.

I will be playing Halo 3 hardcore so I have my fill by the time Mass Effect comes out.
