Now i am a believer. I used to think that wii was stuck in the past, and that the wiimote is just a stupid gimmick. BOY WAS I WRONG

I purchased the wii with Mario galaxy and component cables for my tv, and i have to say i really do love it.

When implemented right like Mario Galaxy and wii sports and wiimote really is a lot of fun, and is really immersive. and it becomes a game within itself.

I also love the ideas of recieving up to date news and weather.

I love the wii, i suggest anyone who can find it to buy it, and i hope to see you online when smash bros comes out!!!!!!

Thanks!

You love the idea of receiving up-to-date news and weather?

Come on. You use a computer to do that, and it works better.

great to know you enjoy your purchse. The Wii is, amazingly, still hard to find pretty much everywhere. I went into Gamestop here in Boca Raton yesterday to ask him about Wii availability. He had just gotten off the phone with someone inquiring the exact same thing.

He told me it was the 6th time so far that day (and it was early), that he had gotten phone calls about it. And his answer? The location was to receive 2 units by this Friday, and they were already accounted for.

Good for you. Go buy some other good games like MP3, NMH, maybe Warioware and you'll have a blast with it.

I'm still amazed by the Infiniti I bought back in June of last year. Best vehicle I have ever owned.

well im not a believer, because almost no games use the wiimote well, and its best game smg, would have been better with a gamecube controller, with the wiimote and nunchuck, i just felt it was sort of sloppy

and its other soon to be best game, smash bros. brawl, doesnt even use any motion controls, and is best played also with a gamecube controller

Most people have this reaction within a week of getting married, so I think it's pretty natural.

Yeah, give it some time, and it'll wear off. I play my little cousin's one once in awhile, and it keeps me attracted for about half an hour or so, but by no means is the Wii the end all be all.

Im sorry but everyone who gets a Wii thinks that at the start, then the Wiimote gimmick starts the wear off, and the fun dies down, then you realise its just last gen hardware with a annoying controller, But boy is it fun for the first few days, but wow is it **** after the fun factor dies down.

I got mine on launch day and still love it. No More Heroes is insanely fun, you should get that. And Brawl comes out soon. :D And don't forget the awesome Metroid Prime 3. Might as well throw Zack and Wiki on too, seeing as it is fantastic. If you haven't played TP, get that. There is a great selection of games out right now, and coming soon.

I got a Wii last year and traded it in within four months of owning it so I could get a 360 instead. I've honestly not missed it for so much as one day since, either. There are a few promising games on the horizon, but if I wanted to play games that look dated and play dated (except for Wii games having a newer, and not usually improved, control scheme), I'd play some of my PS1 games and actually have a good time.

The fact that a person with a FFX avatar is dissing games that "feel and play dated" is arguably the most unintentionally hilarious thing I've ever seen on System Wars.

I'm trying to figure out if you're implying that Wii games don't look and feel outdated, or if you're just taking outlandish shots at me for no particular reason. If it's case A, then I think you need to go back and play some of those Wii games again. If it's case B, then that was just unnecessary and did nothing productive. In any case, Final Fantasy X was loads more fun than any Wii game I played, and Final Fantasy X isn't my favorite Final Fantasy game, for that matter.

Not like the Wii does. My friend owns one and I was over at his house all weekend a couple of months ago and all we played was the Wii. Then when sunday morning came around, there was just no desire to play it at all.

Thanks!

pDbOy_26

Glad to see your enjoying it bro.

Send me a message with your FC and I'll send you mine, be easier to send Brawl codes to each other when its out.

^That goes for anyone eles who wants to exchange FCs.

Funny... tomorrow will be the 1-year anniversary of my Wii purchase at Target, and I became a believer as well.

However, I played Twilight Princess and Wii Sports... and I was less impressed with the news and weather channels. Now 11 games and 30 VC games later, I'm having the most fun playing games in years.

Galaxy?? The game barely uses the Wiimote, all they did was add a spin attack that needs a tiny wiggle that's it. They could have done it on any controller.

After a while the wiimote loses its fun and becomes just another controller making you think(or at least me) "Why is this so great again?".

Shaking the remote to perform a spin attack is actually fun, more so then using a button.

SMG doesn't shove the remote functions down your throat. But there are times when it becomes very useful. Surfing on the manta ray or controlling the ball for instance. Then there is pushing mario around in a bubble.

And of course, the wii remote can be used to collect/shoot star bits while you are controlling mario. It's alot of fun. not hard, but it does require some multi tasking.. and this feels rewarding.

Wait until next month. Smash Bros will own your life. I still play melee regularly. Smash Bros is fun for casuals but even better for the hardcore. You have no idea how deep Melee was/is....its ridiculous. So many ADV. techniques.

Maybe you actually bought some new games, unlike you'd do for the Wii so you can blindly bash it?

Wait until next month. Smash Bros will own your life. I still play melee regularly. Smash Bros is fun for casuals but even better for the hardcore. You have no idea how deep Melee was/is....its ridiculous. So many ADV. techniques.Japanese_Monk

I've had a chance to play an import version since a friend just came back from Japan recently and it is awesome. I'm still getting used to some of the mechanics, but it does feel a bit different when compared to melee. I was a competitive melee player and first thing I noticed is some adv. techs have been removed. Either way, it is so much more balanced than melee so it shouldn't really affect casuals in anyway. Hardcore players have a lot of readjustments they need to do with their playing style though.
